This is another “Anonymous” commentor (just to clarify that I’m not the other person that you berate here). I’ve chosen to remain anonymous because you seem like a raving hate filled lunatic to me. You have totally bought in to the whole group hate thing that is being preached day and night on Fox “news” and other war machine backed media sources. The insurgency in Iraq and Afghanistan is far less of a “WAR” than would happen anywhere else in the world had they been invaded, their government overthrown and their country occupied for several years. Imagine if the roles were reversed how many thousands of their occupying army would we have killed by now?
Good intentions be damned. The people who are fighting us have no idea of our honorable intentions (if they truly are as honorable as is being presented by the powers that be here in America). I live here and dearly love this country and I cannot fully believe in our “honorable” intentions even while I watch all of the daily propaganda on TV. Imagine what it must feel like to have never heard any of our American idealism and to have only been told from a young age that Americans are evil and will kill you… Then having it proven by watching 30,000 + of your friends, relatives and countrymen killed by an army that you don’t understand who don’t speak your language but bully you everywhere you go… and this goes on for years while you have no clean water or electricity and your sewer is backed up and the rest of the people you know are all in the same horrible place. What would you do if this happened to you?
I find it despicable that you have used the Roman Empire’s lasting 1,000 years as your benchmark for America’s longevity. If we are to be like the Christian hating warmonger Romans then let it end now.
Fortunately I believe America is a much more aware and generous place than you do. We the people do not want to kill all of those who would disagree with us or even all those who would threaten us. We the people choose our battles with the parental kindness of a superpower who knows that when those who would choose to be our mortal enemies luck out and send their very best to do their very worst they still do us relatively little harm.
If you had any clue about the way the numbers actually stack up and how small an assault has actually happened you would be ashamed of your hate filled angry call for vengeance and war.
Do you realize that during the year that 9/11 happened 30,622 Americans took their own lives? That same year 42,116 Americans were killed in automobile crashes. Maybe we should declare war on automobiles since they kill 14 times as many people as any terrorists ever did in their best year!
You have been whipped into a frenzy along with millions of other sheep people who see the world through a narrow angry lens of sensationalism brought to you by those who would sell advertising time. You are truly a victim of an out of control fear that has been sold to you step by step by those who would keep your attention elsewhere while they steal your assets and your soul.
I don’t write this to argue with you. I have not left you my contact information and I will block you Blog from ever darkening my screen again so you will not hear from me again. I wish you far more peace in your life than you have now and more than anything I wish you would stop spreading hate and fear to others. I beg you to please just stop.

6 terrorists 5 years ago? Are you serious?

Jihadists may be human too - but they want to kill me and YOU if you are an American as you say. They want to kill our families, our children, grandchildren and parents.

Unless you don’t believe what they say.

They kill civilians. They kill children. They saw off westerners heads with dull kitchen knives. And they apparently feel perfectly justified in doing so.

To do as you suggest, we should all submit to their will and line up and allow them to execute us as they wish.

Is that the Christian thing to do?

Our President is our President. He isn’t spreading hatred, fear and lies. We know what the Jihadists did, we don’t need him, or you, or anyone else explaining to us what they say, what they do or how they feel about us. We understand what we see with our own eyes and hear with our own ears.

I am not at war with you, or the States. I love you all.. left, right, everybody. Jihadists, too, they are human beings, and if you believe in Creation, I can’t see how they are separare from the God you love. If you don’t, have some compassion anyway, and see they might also have reasons. There really only were 6 terrorists, 5 years ago. OUr president is the one spreading haterd fear and lies. He as done far more damage. I love him anyway.

Yes, I am the junior audit director for the eastern seaboard for our firm and way too busy achieving client compliance which enables our firm to sign off completed audits. To see first hand what some corporate business personnel take as a Ã¢â‚¬Å“personal responsibilityÃ¢â‚¬Â in keeping fair and equitable, and above all, lawful internal controls and anti-fraud measurements is a remarkable parody in itself.
It is a tough business to make executives realize that there are serious consequences in taking advantage of various errors and omissions, which our firm is there to identify and resolve. This is a daunting task to say the least, but very satisfying when we end up — being the good guys.

Very well said and yes, I agree it is a looming threat and it appears that there are very few citizens who are concerned enough to face these issues, as they present themselves though the internal strive and disagreements.
I enjoy your blog and as soon as I am finished digging my way out of Sarbanes-Oxley end of the year modeling I will begin my blog.
