The Embarrassment that is Cynthia McKinney

The arrogence of it all. I suppose it would be a bit of a put off for Representative McKinney to have to show her ID to enter the House of Representatives. Afterall, she’s Cynthia McKinney.

I suppose, in her seemingly limitless delusions of self-importance, everyone should recognize her immediately at a glance. She is Cynthia McKinney afterall. If you don’t recognize her you are a racist, obviously. [See Michelle Malkin's report on how McKinney is playing the race card.]

Of course, Ms. McKinney has hired a lawyer and is painting herself as the victim of this incident. She says she is, “just a victim of being in Congress while black.”

Violence Worker has two posts on Ms. McKinney’s bad behavior. Well, this round of her bad behavior. It’s Called Assault and Censure McKinney.

The Rolling Barrage is reports on her continuation of the embarrassment in the form of a news conference today in which she declares she is only guilty of being Black.

This is the same US Representative that sent a letter of appology to Saudi Arabia after Rudy Guiliani refused a pay-off immediately following 9-11. She did this on her own as a Representative of the United States.

This is the same Representative that falls all over herself to be photographed at every opportunity, especially shaking hands with the President before and after his State of the Union addresses.

Cynthia McKinney is nothing if not entertaining. The problem is that she’s a member of the House of Representatives. That makes her entertaining antics dangerous. She actually can wield some power with her comical antics.

I think of people who have had serious charges brought against them for hitting people with their cell phones or hitting a cop. Russell Crowe just recently had an incident in which he faced charges of assault for throwing his cell phone.

Naomi Campbell is currently under investigation for hitting her housekeeper with a cell phone.

Then theres the case from several years ago in which ZaZa Gabor slapped a cop. She had to go to court over that and was the butt of jokes for the longest time.

But none of them are Cynthia McKinney.

It sounds like Ms. McKinney expects to not only steer clear of facing charges, but plans to be the victim of the attack. By the time she is done the poor officer she attacked might be charged with attacking her.

It is embarrassing this woman is a Representative and is from Georgia.

She is proof positive that money and privilege don’t buy class.

The French ‘I don’t wanna Have To Work for a Living Riots’

What about the French!Just like everyone else, I’ve noticed they’ve been crashing and burning over the past months. They had the Muslim riots and now they have the ‘WAHHHHH, I don’t wanna have to work for a living WAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH’ riots.

Having worked my entire life I am less than sympathetic for those who want to be given something for nothing when they are capable of working. If you are legitimately unable to work - that’s one thing. If you are just lazy - that’s a whole other creature to me.

In their usual obnoxious hauty way they have looked down their long collective noses at the Americans who have put work and ambition above living and loving and drinking wine by the sea (blah, blah, blah).

Reality seems to be imposing itself on their little fantasies of socialism supporting their living, loving and drinking wine by the sea lifestyles. Someone has to support it. Someone has to pay for it. The money has to come from somewhere and the coffers are drying up.

They really don’t like it at all.

In an odd way it reminds me of some girls friends I’ve had over the years who were always looking for their sugga daddies and got really dramatic when things didn’t go the way they wanted it to go. They would pout and tear up and get their nails done.

Two observations about the French and their riots. Well, maybe three.

One. When the Muslims were rioting there were no police to be found and Chirac was shaking in his boots. When somebody could find him. The riots just finally pettered out.

Now with their own youth rioting - they are out there with bells on fighting back the crowds.

What gives with that?

Two. Has any socialist society ever succeeded? Why is it any surprise that the French society is falling apart? Socialism has never worked as a form of government. It undermines any motivation to work and contribute to the economy (ie: the French youth rioting even as we speak).

Why then does our liberal left want so badly to move our government towards socialism? It doesn’t make any sense.

Three. (I knew there’d probably be more than 2 points here). Chirac sure is upset about the French language becoming obsolete.

Chirac - the French have tried to dominate Europe since the middle ages and before. They have failed. You have not won a war against the Britist since the War of the Roses (1660).

We will never know if you had actually fought a war if you might have won. But you’ve sat back in your arrogance and let others fight your wars for you.

If the French youth get what they want, France will cease to exist altogether. No society can function without SOMEONE footing the bill.

This, dear France, is why you don’t dominate Europe.

And so, the Brits win. Again.

au revoir

What is it that Liberals Don’t Understand?

I’ve been listening to T.V. and reading blogs tonight and have found myself wondering what I often find myself wondering when I hear a liberal (sorry, it’s progressive now) rant on about everything that’s wrong with the U.S.A.

Where did the ability to reason get lost?

Are we wired up differently from the get-go? I mean, are some people just born with an inability to think logically? Do they understand they are making enormous leaps in logic to come to the conclusions they come to? Do they have a clue at all they are giving aid and comfort to an enemy that will cut their head off without a second thought?

I listened to a young woman tonight argue that the Battle Cry rally in San Francisco today was fascist. She hysterically claimed they were ‘brainwashing’, destroying gay rights, murderers, warmongers, etc., etc.

Video of the counter-demonstration showed a dozen or so people dressed up like cats or other such little outfits, holding signs asking, ‘Who would Jesus Bomb?’.

The poor girl in this ‘debate’ didn’t have anything to work with. Her only come back appeared to be on the line of, ‘Yeah, well, yo mama.’

She insisted that the Battle Cry group had no right to preach what they preach. I’m not that familiar with this group. But we do have free speech in this country - which is why SHE can say what SHE says. (that’s the part where the logic gets skewed somehow).

While she was ranting about how America doesn’t allow her to express herself as a lesbian - she is on national television expressing herself as a lesbian.

See what I mean? Illogical.

She said President Bush is a tyrant and doesn’t allow people to oppose him. She said he reigns over an oppressive regime that keeps women submissive and quiet. She says this while she’s opposing him on national television and as a woman was certainly not being submissive or quiet.

Illogical again.

Sigh….

Then a little later I heard the little tete-a-tete between Sean Hannity and Alec Baldwin. Chazz has a video clip and transcript of this little chat here.

More of the same. The reason part of the brain is somehow disconnected. Ranting and raving about being oppressed and how our personal liberties are being taken away.

They declare they are being denied liberties while exercising their liberties to the fullest extent. This with a very liberal sprinkling of personal and nasty insults.

A little lesson in diplomacy. These methods do not win people over. Vicious, hateful, nasty retorts do not make people stop and think to themselves, ‘Gee, I ought to stop and listen to this reasonable and rational person.’

It generally makes people mad and more aware of how out of whack the values and morality of this country have gotten. It makes most people think, ‘We have got to do something to get our country back under control’.

See, that sort of behavior backfires. The more you scream, the more people think straight-jackets are needed. And the more the country moves to the right.

A lesson in forms of government. We live in a Republic. That means that we have chosen a form of government that is ruled by the majority of the people.

I certainly don’t agree with everything that is done in this country. However, I understand that my views might not be the majority and the majority rules. So I have chosen to live in a country in which I may not always like whoever is governing at any given time.

But I understand that I can not force other people to think and behave as I think they should. Majority rules.

Right now, the majority is getting very tired of the irrational, unreasonable and very loud minority calling them names.

One last point. It’s such an easy shot. Anybody can criticise the U.S.A. with little or no consequence. Some people might get irritated at you. Some people might not go to your movies any more because all they can see is your personality rather than the character you are trying to pretend you are. But no one is going to make you wear a burka or saw off your head.

>If you are really so concerned about women’s rights, then help us fight this war. Help liberate the women of truly oppressive regimes!

If you are truly ready to get out and demonstrate and hold your fist up to the T.V. cameras, then have the guts to speak out in support of Denmark. DENMARK! A little nation that is standing alone in the face of enormous international pressure to submit to the will of Islam. Now THAT takes guts. They are standing up for Freedom in the eye of the storm, when there is real danger to them for doing so.

That is what will matter. That is courage.

Iraqi Doctor Says He Killed Patients

From the Washington Post: Insurgents Paid; Police, Soldiers Targeted, by John Ward Anderson, Monday, March 27, 2006, page A12

BAGHDAD, March 26 — A doctor has admitted killing at least 35 Iraqi police officers and army soldiers by giving them lethal injections, reopening their wounds or engaging in other deadly acts while they were being treated at a hospital in the northern city of Kirkuk, according to Kurdish security sources and Kurdish television.

Kurdish television broadcast on Sunday what it said was the doctor’s taped confession, in which he told police that he sympathized with the radical Sunni Arab insurgent group Ansar al-Sunna. He said that the group paid him to kill the men and that he did it because “I hate the Americans and what they’ve done to Iraq.”

“I injected more than 35 policemen and soldiers, including officers and some who were slightly injured,” the doctor, identified by a Kurdish security official as Luay Omar Taie, said in the taped statement. “I used to stop the breathing machines or cut the electricity in the operations room or reopen the wounds.”

A senior official with the police intelligence agency of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), who declined to be quoted by name, confirmed the details of the case, which was first reported by the Independent newspaper in London. The circumstances of the alleged confession, including whether it might have been coerced, could not be verified.

Taie was arrested following the detention of members of a criminal gang with links to Ansar al-Sunna. The gang is responsible for kidnapping more than 150 people and executing 18 of them, the PUK intelligence official said. Arrests of insurgents soon followed.

During interrogations, the insurgents identified Taie as a doctor who had treated them. The organization selected Taie because he was young and wanted money, the official said.

In the statement aired on Kurdish television, the doctor said he was paid up to $100 for each act he committed. He asserted responsibility for killing the assistant police chief in Kirkuk, Gen. Ajman Abdullah, with a fatal injection and said he also killed the general’s brother, a soldier who was admitted to the hospital after being wounded by a roadside bomb.

The doctor said he helped a wounded insurgent escape from the hospital. The intelligence official said Taie also advised insurgents on how to forge documents to claim that U.S. forces had shot their members, so that they could be treated at a hospital in Mosul, about 100 miles away.

I wonder why the name Dr. Josef Mengele kept coming to mind as I was reading this.

It is interesting to me that in their resistance to Americans and other Westerners, the Muslims insist on killing each other.

I’m not complaining, mind you - I just find it interesting. I suppose that’s safer than confronting an American Soldier.

Deployed Family Support

Please welcome new member of the Blue Star Blogroll…

Deployed Family Support states their mission as:

Deployment is not only difficult on the soldiers; it is incredibly difficult on the soldier’s families. It affects the family and friends left behind as well. Although many families have great support systems in place, there are too many families that are not as fortunate.

We have identified a need to provide a network of assistance to those who do not know where to turn or who to turn to. Soldiers’ Angels has created a project called “Deployed Family Support.” This team will provide TLC to all family members; (i.e., wives, husbands, children, and/or friends) in need of encouragement and support.

Support is provided primarily through E-Mail and electronic communications. Taking care of family members who have been left behind by their deployed loved one is just one small way Soldiers’ Angels demonstrates our gratitude for the sacrifices families are making, not only for us, but for future generations as well.

Please go by and say hi and welcome ….

Fire Fight in Baghdad

News reports of a firefight in Baghdad currently underway.

ABC News:

Abdul-Zahra al-Suaidi, head of al-Sadr’s office in Baghdad, said U.S. forces and Iraqi soldiers opened fire at the al-Moustafa Shiite mosque in the Ur neighborhood, killing 18 people in what he called an unprovoked attack.

Washington Post:

A mortar attack hit the compound of Moqtada al-Sadr, the powerful Shiite cleric and militia leader on Sunday, injuring one guard and a child, a top Sadr aide said. Sadr was inside his house at the time of the attack but escaped injury, aide Mostafa Yacoubi said.

Two 82mm mortar rounds hit the Shiite cleric’s compound, which is in a neighborhood controlled by Sadr’s forces in the northeast of the Shiite holy city of Najaf.

More in a few minutes …..

They won’t show the video - they think the American people can’t take it.

Of course, the MSM is saying that our Soldiers just went into a mosque and just started shooting. For no apparent reason, I suppose…. [rolleyes]

al-Sadr is calling for calm. Must have hurt him a little since he doesn’t want to fight anymore right now.

Christian Peacekeepers Refuse to Help Rescuers

This story just keeps getting curiouser and curiouser.News Telegraph reports that the three ‘Christian’ peace niks that were rescued by British, U.S.A. and Canadian forces have refused to cooperate any further with allied intelligence units sent to debrief them.

Much to the chagrin of others who are hoping their own loved ones can also be rescued.

Neither the men nor the Canadian group that sent them to Iraq have thanked the people who saved them in any of their public statements.

One of them, Norman Kember, 74, a retired physics professor, of Pinner, north-west London, was in Kuwait last night and was expected to return to Britain today. He is understood to have given some helpful information.

He provided details of the semi-rural area north-west of Baghdad where he was held and confirmed that his captors were criminals, rather than insurgents. Their motive was believed to be money.

The two Canadians kidnapped with Mr Kember - Harmeet Sooden, 32, and Jim Loney, 41 - were said to have been co-operative at first but less so on arriving at the British embassy in Baghdad after being given the opportunity to wash, eat and rest.

Previous hostages have been questioned on everything from what shoes their kidnappers wore to the number of mobile phones they had. The pacifist Christian Peacemaker Teams with which the men were visiting Iraq is opposed to the coalition’s presence and has accused it of illegally detaining thousands of Iraqis.

An Edinburgh teacher who is scheduled to go to Iraq with the CPT this summer stated:

“We make clear that if we are kidnapped we do not want there to be force or any form of violence used to release us.”

It seems that now that they are rescued the three who have been held hostage for the past 4 months still feel that way. NOW THAT THEY ARE RESCUED.

I did note that the British hostage said briefly on TV this afternoon that he had to process his thoughts on all this. He indicated that he needed to understand if his actions had been fool-hearty. So I’m thinking there might be some hope for him, maybe.

He also provided some assistance to the intelligence unit by providing them with some information about their captors and the circumstances of their abduction. More information than the other two offered.

The Christian Peacekeeping Team organization has publicly blamed the coalition troops for the kidnapping and refuse to acknowledge they were rescued. They continue to say they were ‘released’ or ‘freed’.

When told how angry the coalition was feeling, Claire Evans, a spokesman for the CPTs in America, said: “We are extremely grateful to everybody who had a role leading to the men’s release.”

Britian’s Tony Blair’s reaction:

Tony Blair, in Brussels for an EU summit, said: “I’d like to say how pleased I am that he was released and pay tribute to the extraordinary courage, dedication and commitment of the British, American, Iraqi, Canadian and other forces that were involved.”

Gen Sir Mike Jackson, the chief of the defence staff, told Channel 4 News: “I am slightly saddened that there does not seem to have been a note of gratitude for the soldiers who risked their lives to save those lives.”

Asked if he meant that Mr Kember had not said thank you, he said: “I hope he has and I have missed it.”

50 Soldiers from the 1Bn the Parachute Regiment, the Royal Marines, American and Canadian special forces rescued the men from their captors.

In their statements the rescued men are blaming the Soldiers for their captivity. They are also celebrating that they are once again free to be with their families, to bath, shave, eat what they wish, and say what they want to say.

They don’t seem to see how illogical and unreasonable this reaction is.

Gentlemen, it’s a simple matter of cause and effect. You were in a war zone trying to teach ‘peace’ to un-peaceful people. You had no way to protect yourselves and refused the assistance of those who could and would protect you.

That is what caused you to be in the situation you were in.

You were rescued by 50 brave men with big guns. Those men were able to find you because they had detained one of your captors who gave up the intell. The very thing you are protesting.

The men with big guns saved you and the effect of that is that you can once again bad-mouth them and your countries. You can do this while you are bathing and shaving and breathing the air of free men.

The effect of you not helping those who helped you, is that there might be others who will not be rescued.

Your ‘peace’ activities have been expensive in lives, time and money. You have not created any peace. You have gotten in the way.

And now that you will not cooperate with the Soldiers, you might very well be causing more death and destruction.

Do everybody a favor. Go back to Canada and have your little coffee clatches and bad-mouth the troops to your hearts content. Just quit interferring with the people who can actually do something to bring about peace.

That would be those brave men with the big guns you so despise.

God Bless Our Troops
