I’m watching Fox’s special ‘A Company of Heros’. Actually, my husband is watching it. I think I might turn the TV to another channel if I had any control over the remote.
It is so painful to watch.
I remember seeing the Fox reports that are being featured. And this is the back story. The story of the men who were killed and their families and fellow Warriors.
With a son in the Army, I can’t help but think of him. Seeing this makes it much too close to home.
It also makes me angry.
It makes me angry that the seditionist media portray our Soldiers as the bad guys. I remember reporters sticking their microphones into Marines’ faces asking, ‘How do you feel that so-in-so was killed’. During the battle!
I remember a big media uproar when Soldiers put a dying insurgent out of his misery. This particular group of insurgents had moments before had been firing upon them.
The media and seditionist leftist were demanding that the Marine be tried. They wanted him tried for killing an enemy combatant in the middle of a battle.
The Marines had been protecting the reporter who had turned around and used the tape he had made to get a lot of airtime for his own purposes. Even when they are with the Marines in battle, they apparently don’t have a clue about what the Marines are doing. They apparently are just promoting their own careers at the expense of the men who are trying to save Western Civilization.
This particular battle had been postponed and men had to go in with boots on ground, because of a media uproar that ‘innocent’ civilians might get killed in a bombing raid of Fallujah. The thing is, Fallujah was an insurgent strong-hold. The people of Fallujah were protecting and assisting the insurgents.
So because of the hard left’s insistence on micro-managing this war and their refusal to understand the brutality of this enemy, we lose good men.
71 men died in Fallujah. I don’t remember how many were injured. Abu Musab al-Zarqawi escaped to do more beheadings, more kidnappings and more mayhem. He and his ’soldiers’ had tortured and killed people in the city who did not help them.
All of that could have been avoided had the media and the hard-left let the Military do what it does. If they had not interfered and the Military had bombed Fallujah, the whole thing would have had a very different outcome.
The Administration should not have given in to the pressure from those seditionist and gone ahead with the original plan.
Our country is the worse for it.

My dearest Beth,
I can completely understand your reluctance to watch this show. I am watching it now and without a loved one there (though I do have two adopted soldiers), it is tough to watch for me as well.
My deepest appreciation to you and your family. My prayers are with you as well.

I saw a minute or two of the show, and then changed the channel, too. Much too difficult to watch. And it made me angry - for the same reasons it made you angry. I suspect this war would probably already be over and with far fewer casualties if it hadn’t been for the MSM and the left propogandists.

I didn’t watch it but then I don’t watch much that’s on the news shows. I usually end up
swearing at the TV. I spend more time reading the milblogs and going to sites that honor our soldiers rather than disrespect them. My blood boils easily these days with the media’s perspective.
