Abdul-Zahra al-Suaidi, head of al-Sadr’s office in Baghdad, said U.S. forces and Iraqi soldiers opened fire at the al-Moustafa Shiite mosque in the Ur neighborhood, killing 18 people in what he called an unprovoked attack.

A mortar attack hit the compound of Moqtada al-Sadr, the powerful Shiite cleric and militia leader on Sunday, injuring one guard and a child, a top Sadr aide said. Sadr was inside his house at the time of the attack but escaped injury, aide Mostafa Yacoubi said.
Two 82mm mortar rounds hit the Shiite cleric’s compound, which is in a neighborhood controlled by Sadr’s forces in the northeast of the Shiite holy city of Najaf.

As for al-Sadr he is not to be trusted and this I believe is a ruse from him. Also, Muslims that are not so-called ‘martyr’s’ are afraid to die out of ‘fear’ their so-called ‘god’-'allah’ will send them to hell because their ‘god’ us not a loving merciful god.
According to the President, this is a ‘noble faith’. I am sorry to disagree, but I do so respectfully. It is a ‘demonic faith’.
Now that it looks like Islam will lose face by Abdul Rahman being released, look for the Muslims to go for a big victory somewhere, to cover the shame of not being able to kill someone they see as a traitor to Islam. The Afghani Muslims had gotten so worked up, they will either attack Rahman once he is free, or find another target.
As for the attack on the Mosque-let’s just say that al-Sadr and company maybe telling a teensy little white lie.
We never attack without cause. The insurgency someday will stop being propped up by Iran, Syria and the New York Times, and then Iraq can move forward without watching its back every second of the day.
