Two classes of faux liberals engage in this kind of behavior: those who know they are lying and the useful idiots who have willfully performed a DIY lobotomy on themselves, choosing to be stupid in order to maintain their "reality-based" fantasies.

OK, maybe that last is slightly unfair: first, it's a demonstrable fact that half the population is of below average intelligence. Second, nearly everyone has been through 12 or more years of enstupiation by our modern "prisons for kids" that are so powerfully influenced by educrats and schools of education (both hotbeds of faux liberalism). Only those who choose to actually learn how to think (or are fortunate enough to have influences at home to inculcate reasoning ability) manage to escape complete brainwashing by schools, Mass Media Podpeople, etc.

But still, at least half the population starts off above average in intelligence. And everyone has choices. Some of these folks just chose to become stupid.

Beth -

Thanks for visiting my site - and thanks for the plug! (FYI, it's Chazz with an "a!" ;-))

I agree with you, and cannot understand what makes people like Alec Baldwin, Charlie Sheen and Susan Sarandon think they can tell us how to think, live and vote - when they seem to have such a hard time leading their own "f"-d up lives.

If you really want to see some unhinged Hollywood, fellow blogger Timmer of "Righting America" has a video clip that will make your day. Go to http://rightingamerica.blogspot.com/2006/03/actor-belzer-knows-better-than.html and you will see Bill Maher, of all people, step in to shut down a raving celebrity who goes after our soldiers. Dumbass!

Thankfully, they are all not bad. Check out http://www.operationiraqichildren.org/ to see what Gary Sinise and Laura Hildenbrand (Author of "Sea Biscuit") have been doing with THEIR celebrity.

Again, thanks for the visit and love your blog! Come back again for a visit real soon! ;-)

There is a fundamental disconnect between liberals and reality. Thoughtful liberals will admit to it. They will not, however, alter their perceptions. They don't have a solid base and I find most liberals are terribly unhappy in life.

BTW-I submitted my blog for the BSC. I hope I sent it ot the right e-mail address.

Cheers,

Beth, you have certainly hit the nail on the head. I get so aggravated with people like the ones you mentioned. They just don't seem to be aware how stupid they look when they rant about their lack of ability to express their opinion or their loss of rights WHILE being on TV or interviewed in a major publication. Personally, I think Alec Baldwin should have to live in Iraq or Iran and let's just see how his ideas are received there!

Beth, "Problem is, most of the hispanics aren’t legal and therefore are not registered to vote. Lose-lose."
Which the Democrats are trying to win-win. They have been challenging election reform; some states want to have a voter present a photo I.D. in order to be allowed to vote-this has been called a poll tax, and discriminitory towards those who cannot afford (!?) a driver's license or state issued ID card. During the 2004 election there was also a push to allow inmates in prisons to vote. If they can swell their voter ranks with illegals and ineligibles, it's a step up from the old Chicago way with graveyard constituencies.
I would love to see them join the whigs in history-but I would also prefer the two party system to continue, to keep 'em honest, and keep the power in the voters hands, not the polititians. Though not a Libertarian, a good fiscally sensible Libertarian opposition party would suit me just fine.

Well said Beth and thanks for the trackback,
The problem with the Democrats is they think they represent the average person. That does not wash with the folks trying to make ends meet while their elected representatives live in homes that cost millions of dollars. It is all about power to them and they don't really care who they have to make a "victim" to get that power.

The donks have lost touch with reality and they act like they have lost their minds as well. But I will hand it to them, it takes talent to say some of the things they do and keep a straight face.

I think you are right Doug. I read your other comment. I AM that cynical.

It's all about the power. It's not Bush they hate as much as they hate his popularity and the fact he has been a strong leader.

They hate the fact they had a brief moment of power under the Clinton Administration and it was marred with corruption and scandal.

They hate that everything has improved since Bush has been in office. They talk about the stock market falling when it's higher than it was during Clinton administration. They had a huge celebration and it was all over the news when it went over 10,000 - now if it goes DOWN to 11,000 they talk about how bad the economy is.

We were hit repeatedly by terrorist attacks during the Clinton Administration and his lack of action or weak action resulted in them becoming more and more bold - to the point they hit us hard in the heart of our country on 9/11.

They know it was a failed administration and they are trying desperately to defend the indefensible. To admit that would mean they would have to admit their day is over.

The dems are going the way of the whig party and others that became outdated and out of touch with the people.

And they are losing their base. They have gone so far to the left that the very basis their platform is being lost to them. They used to stand for moral values, taking care of the poor and needy. Now they build their careers on the necks of the weak and poor.

I agree, they are losing their base. They are making it worse by trying to make a grab play for teh hispanic vote. That's a no-win for them. We know we can't continue for a few to support the many who are coming here and taking full advantage of a welfare system that is already overloaded. We HAVE to do something. It's not unreasonable to have them pay taxes on the money they make here. They can help support the system and they can register. That's very reasonable. The dems won't get any traction on that and they will lose their black base fighting that. But there are more hispanics than blacks in the country now, so they seem to be willing to drop the blacks to try to get the hispanic vote.

Problem is, most of the hispanics aren't legal and therefore are not registered to vote. Lose-lose.

That's just my opinion.

I agree, they are losing their base. They are making it worse by trying to make a grab play for teh hispanic vote. That’s a no-win for them. We know we can’t continue for a few to support the many who are coming here and taking full advantage of a welfare system that is already overloaded. We HAVE to do something. It’s not unreasonable to have them pay taxes on the money they make here. They can help support the system and they can register. That’s very reasonable. The dems won’t get any traction on that and they will lose their black base fighting that. But there are more hispanics than blacks in the country now, so they seem to be willing to drop the blacks to try to get the hispanic vote.

Problem is, most of the hispanics aren’t legal and therefore are not registered to vote. Lose-lose.

That’s just my opinion.

The cynic in me sees manipulation. The Democrats/Liberals can never hope to regain political power if they don't win elections. It's hard to win elections when the electorate is basically happy with America under the Republicans. We have a strong economy, more people are saving towards their future, we are waging a war on terror which will bring stability to the world-many positives.
More people are moving into the conservative camp also-if I were even more cynical than I am, I would suggest that the Democrats have been losing strength with the black electorate;as they move further into the middle and upper classes economically, they have little use for the Democrats who continually try to paint them as 'victims.'
So the Dems are now looking (remember-I'm not actually this cynical-) for new 'victims' to represent and champion in Washington-hence the immigration amnesty bills, the co-ordinated latino student walkouts and humongous latino protests. Which come a week after the French have riots against labor legislation. As I mentioned on another comment-the demontrations are being photo-opped for political reasons. Watch what happens in September/October during the (sigh)run up to the election. I dread the political season.
And am looking for a stronger Republican presence in Congress, even if it means the hysteria on the left gets turned up to '11.'
