Our Warriors:
Thirdee at Code Red* Women for the Troops tells the stories of US Army Spc. James Burnett and Capt. Thomas Douglas.
AubreyJ has a great photo of the day. Go look. The very talented AubreyJ has also made this video - a must see.
War on Terrorism
The Wake Up Cafe gives a riveting account of seeing the movie United 93. When the movie started without sound she writes: ‘Most of us were sitting there doing little or nothing about it. How like September 10th we are I thought. Still.’
That is what the movie exemplified. How unsuspecting, Americans on that day were clueless to the evil theatening to engulf us. That the air traffic controllers who were actually listening to the events in the cockpits were not at first believed. How unprepared NORAD and the Air Force were. There were only four interceptors available to send and even that was a screwup because the fighter jets were sent East over the ocean. So much precious time was lost because of bureaucrats unwilling to take a stand.
A Lady’s Ruminations also posts about United 93.
Some people might think it is too soon for a 9/11 movie. I think it has taken too long. People have forgotten what happened on that horrifying day. People no longer care that we were attacked, out of the blue, and that there are wicked terrorists out there who will do anything to bring us down . . . if we don’t stop them first. I’m glad to see a good movie which doesn’t gloss over the facts.

Politics
The Median Sib say Our Soldiers Will Fight Your Wars. She refers to a post by Michelle Malkin about students vandalizing the ROTC headquarters at the UNC-Chapel Hill.
Woman Honor Yourself has a similar story of war protesters at the University of Chicago.
I think maybe somebody forgot to tell these students that we have an all volunteer army. Nobody is making them fight any war. Thankfully, we aren’t dependant on these students to keep us safe and free.
The Amboy Times gives an indepth review of the film, Islam: What the West Needs to Know. The film is due out this summer. Would hollywood really put out a movie that is this politically incorrect?
One of my favorite bloggers is Ruthlace. The fact that she happens to also be my mother does not influence that at all. She may not want to claim me and my blog. (g) She has an interesting post that puts politics in some perspective. As she says, she’s lived long enough to see that politics have been alive and working for along time. Some things never change.
Check out Freedom Watch - she’s got a podcast rant on Monday.
