What is there NOT to like about Dr. Condi Rice?

She is currently laying down the law to the powers that be in Baghdad. She tells them they’ve got to step up to the plate or get stronger leadership.

She and her British counterpart, Jack Straw, drove (drove!) to Baghdad and spent the night there.

Overall, as Secretary of State and one of the most powerful women in the world, she has exceeded any and all expectations. She has conducted herself with dignity, grace and uncommon courage.

One of the things that I have noticed though, is that she doesn’t get the press one of her predecessors got. Whenever Aunt Bea - I mean Madelyn Albright, went anywhere, she had an entourage of press with her. She was hailed in the press, constantly, for whatever it was she was doing. She was photographed with every head of state that could be found to be photographed with.

Her constant bunglings were declared unqualified successes.

Meanwhile, we have Dr. Condoleezza Rice who had a marvelously successful trip to Europe when she was first appointed Secretary of State and all anyone could talk about were her boots. Even at that, she got very little coverage for her successes.

She is now in the Middle East with Jack Straw boldly taking the road on which so many have been killed. More boldly taking a strong stance with the government there.

She doesn’t get the credit she deserves.

Don’t hate her because she’s beautiful! And intelligent, and powerful, and articulate, and sexy, and …….

Reuters - Dr. Rice gave her bed to Jack Straw and she slept on the floor. Straw was horrified when he realized she had slept on the floor so he could be more comfortable.

Reportedly, Jack and Condi have formed a very close relationship. There is certainly a chemistry between them and they are jovial with one another.

hmmmmm ……. could Jack Straw be the future First Gentleman of our country???

Not to worry - I’m on this like …. well, like whatever. We’ll have to keep an eye on this as it develops!
