I’ve always loved cowboys. America is still full of the cowboy spirit.

I was so proud to hear about the thousands of Americans volunteering to guard the borders. I’ve heard varying reports of the numbers - so I’ll just write ‘thousands’.

For some reason seeing these Minutemen sitting in lounge chairs with binoculars on the border made me think of the enduring American spirit. You know, that part of us that still has that cowboy blood in our veins. I don’t think our enemies, both domestic and foreign, realize how easily that part of us rises back to the surface when confronted with a threat.

Our forefathers and mothers took ships across an ocean having no idea what lay ahead for them. They crossed the country in covered wagons, having no idea what was over the next hill. They were a tough, adventurous and aggressive people, and we are their descendants. That hasn’t been completely bred out of us yet.

A lot has been made out of how our ancestors took this land. Manipulating American guilt has gotten a lot of people a lot of advantages.

My answer to that is simple. Every civilization has been formed from warfare. The Native Americans fought among themselves (Canada, Mexico and USA areas). European, African, South American and Asian states were formed the same way. Whoever wins gets the prize and gets to write the history. That’s the way of the world and always has been.

As I watched the modern day version of American cowboys (frontiersmen might be a better word for it), I thought of the Alamo.

189 men held off the entire army of General Santa Anna for 13 days. They knew the sacrifice they were making, they were hopelessly outnumbered. There was no chance of resupplies or reinforcements showing up.

They fought to the last man and killed approximately 1,600 of Santa Anna’s 2,000 troops before they were finally overrun.

They did it for the liberty of Texas.

For those who would do America harm - whether through trying to overrun us with illegal immigration or infiltrate us with muslim dhimmitude and jihad - you might take a lesson from American history.

Americans will make enormous sacrifice at the altar of liberty.

Remember the Alamo!
