I just watched the press conference with Bush and Blair. They said a lot of things. With the usual media questions of ‘What is the exit strategy’, both Bush and Blair replied we’d leave when it is over. RIGHT ANSWER!

Blair pointed out the reality that the importance of this battle can be measured by the determination of the enemy to defeat us. He said they know how important this battle is and wondered, rightly, do we?

They talked about the progress, the fact that we are there under a U.N. mandate, the Iraqi people want us there until they can protect themselves, they have had elections that have been enormously successful (all not mentioned in the press).

So what tidbit does the media pick out of context to put as a headline?

Bush and Blair Acknowledge Iraq ‘Setbacks’

What was actually said was something to the effect of, ‘Of course there have been missteps and setbacks, but there has been enormous progress and we did what we had to do’.

The entire article I linked is full of half-truths and misrepresentations. It quotes both men, but completely out of context. It takes cheap jabs at the President (ie: ‘In unusual introspective comments….’).

One would think they WANT us to lose.

Of course they want us to lose. The left and the democrats are still having a temper tantrum about George Bush beating both Gore and Kerry. If they can do anything to make him look bad, they will. And all the mindless lemmings like the Dixie Chicks and Michael Moore and Cindy Sheehan who can’t think for themselves will just follow along blindly - and like lemmings they’ll keep to that path until they (and us along with them) are destroyed.
