I have to get some work done, but this is just too good to pass up. Every once in a while I just have to post a feel-good story.
Michael Moore, who has become enormously wealthy with what he calls documentaries, twisting and rearranging facts, quotes, photos, etc for his own aggrandizement, is being sued by a mere American Soldier.
Of all things, An American Soldier!!! That is just such sweet justice.
I have no idea what the Soldier’s chances are against the mega-millions Michael Moore can throw into legal fees. Isn’t that ironic? Michael Moore who proclaims himself the champion of the little man is anything BUT a little man himself.
A double-amputee Iraq-war vet is suing Michael Moore for $85 million, claiming the portly peacenik recycled an old interview and used it out of context to make him appear anti-war in “Fahrenheit 9/11.â€Â
Sgt. Peter Damon, 33, who strongly supports America’s invasion of Iraq, said he never agreed to be in the 2004 movie, which trashes President Bush.
In the 2003 interview, which he did at Walter Reed Army Hospital for NBC News, he discussed only a new painkiller the military was using on wounded vets. “They took the clip because it was a gut-wrenching scene,†Damon said yesterday. “They sandwiched it in. [Moore] was using me as ammunition.â€Â
Damon seems to “voice complaint about the war effort†in the movie, according to the lawsuit.
But what the father of two from Middleborough, Mass., was really talking about was the “excruciating†pain he felt after he lost his arms when a Black Hawk helicopter exploded in front of him. Damon wasn’t expressing any opinion about the war, the suit charges, but rather extolling the drug.
“I just want everybody to know what kind of a guy Michael Moore is, and what kind of film this is,†said Damon. He has appeared in two films attacking “Fahrenheit†-“Michael Moore Hates America†and “Fahrenhype 9/11.†…
Particularly outrageous to Damon is the fact that Moore never interviewed him or asked his permission to use the old clip.
I hope this gets media attention, if for no other reason than giving this Soldier the opportunity to regain his reputation, his dignity and his honor.
It would also be pretty nice if Moore got to share some of his wealth. Since he advocates so sincerely for socialism I think he should have the opportunity to put his enormous money where his enormous mouth is.

The Iraqis who have risen up against the occupation are not ‘insurgents’ or ‘terrorists’ or ‘The Enemy’. They are the REVOLUTION, the Minutemen, and their numbers will grow - and they will win.

Great post and I love the pic of Michael Moore at the bottom. When I heard this on Rush today I was so proud of this guy for suing. It makes me sick to think how many lies Moore has told and the gullible people who have believed them.

Michael Moore a legal victim of his editing….
Michael Moore has a long history of creative editing, in that he edits a scene for his movie to make it mean something out of context to what was filmed. He calls it editing. We call it lying and deception.
That he does so a…

The only thing I like better than seeing Bush’s approvals tanking is watching you all get excited over a lawsuit against a fucking documentary maker! Oh the BRAVE GOP, afraid of celluloid, gay marriages, the media . . . has it ever occurred to y’all that you’re just fruitloops bugf**k paranoid?

The way you guys get worked up over a film maker…sad, really. My bet is that the guy agreed to be in the moore pic and is now desperate for cash because rethugs don’t do anything for vets. Isn’t it interesting that the lawyers involved are the same lawyers as the swiftboat people…just using a wounded vet for their own needs.

I’ll wager you are not anti-propaganda when The Bush Crime Family or the Pentagon foist it on the American public, in secret and against the law. After all, “everything changed after 9/11.” The Constitution is irrelevant now. We’re at war with…who is it today? Gotta kill them Iraqis to set them free.
Bush is wiping his ass on our service men and women, like he’s doing with our Constitution. The invasion was cooked up as a way for the cell phone & oil companies, etc., to increase markets. Go read the PNAC proposal from the late 1990s. You’ve been duped.
The is my first (and last, I feel confident) visit to this web site. All the nostalgic “nick-nacks” everywhere. This site is more visually cluttered than my mother’s living room.
And the nostalgia, of course, the longing for an imaginary time in the past, so delusional, so simplistic, so charmingly red-neck-y. I be you have a wagon-wheel coffee table, maybe even chandellier in your house / trailer.

My New Hero–Sgt. Peter Damon…
Hats off to Iraq Veteran, Sgt. Peter Damon who is suing Michael Moore for $85 million for mis-portraying him in his sorry excuse for a documentary, “Fahrenheit 911″….

Particularly outrageous to Damon is the fact that Moore never interviewed him
Uh, then how did Moore get him on tape??
$85 million dollars because his rep regarding Bush might have been bruised–in Middleborough?? I live 10 miles from MB and believe me, being critical of the Dear Leader is no problem. Sounds like he’s just a greedy bastard who’s sick that for his limbs getting blown off the VA only gave him like $80,000 cash settlement and $1000/month for life, and now is looking to hit the Megabucks.
He may find that the Repuglican treatment of Cindy Sheehan/Max Clellan/John Kerry no longer means the media cannot trash him. Oh, the questions that may come up…How did he really lose his arms? What was he doing? Was he killing Iraqi children before that happened? Bombing a village?
Because if you think sliming a war hero is beyond the pale, you haven’t been paying attention. For years.
