Whatever else history may say about me when I’m gone, I hope it will record that I appealed to your best hopes, not your worst fears; to your confidence rather than your doubts. My dream is that you will travel the road ahead with liberty’s lamp guiding your steps and opportunity’s arm steadying your way.

Yesterday was the anniversary of the death of President Ronald Reagan. The ladies of The Cotillion have honored the memory of President Reagan with some excellent posts.
I’m a day late and a dollar short. But you can find memoriams at: A Mom and Her Blog; Common Sense Runs Wild; My Vast Right Wing Conspiracy; PC Free Zone; Portia Rediscovered; Hooah Wife; Something and Half of Something

Somehow, I can’t help but believe that if Mr. Reagan were alive and well and STILL the President, we’d have ended this BS in Iraq about as soon as it started and then gone on to fight the REAL War on Terror… If we had gone to Iraq at all, I think Mr. Reagan may have been a lot smarter than to fall into this little sand pile… He cleaned up Mr. Peanuts messes pretty quick..
I don’t think we’ve ever had a POTUS that good before and i doubt we’ll ever have another even close in the future…

I think Ronald Reagan was the ultimate “father figure” in American politics. He was someone who inspired confidence and respect.
