and another ones gone …. and another ones gone ….

What a great way to start the day!

Per People’s Daily Online

Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki announced on Thursday that the most wanted insurgent in Iraq Abu Musab al-Zarqawi had been killed and the parliament approved Maliki’s nominees for three key security portfolios.

Maliki declared Zarqawi’s killing at a press conference in Baghdad with top U.S. commander in Iraq General George Casey and U. S. Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad.

“Today Zarqawi has been killed,” Maliki told reporters.

He added:

The announcement came six days after Zarqawi called upon his followers in an audio tape to launch a war against Shiites in Iraq.

The killing of the most wanted insurgent in Iraq “constituted a message to all those involved in the insurgency against the state, ” said Maliki, vowing to “face all kinds of challenges.”

“The sole road for the prosperity of the Iraqi people is by means of unity and national conciliation,” he added.

He vowed to face all kinds of challenges. It must be pretty frieghtening to those who have literally put their heads on the block to hear our seditionist news networks and wonder if we, the American people, are willing to face all kinds of challenges. They have made this promise to their people knowing they could only do it with the backing of the United States and Briton.

The head of US-led forces in Iraq, General George Casey, who spoke after the prime minister, said that al-Zarqawi and his spiritual advisor were killed in a US air strike on an al-Qaida safe house, conducted after intelligence tips were received pinpointing his whereabouts.

Iraqi state television said that the US attack occurred near Baquba, in the religiously mixed Diyala province north-west of Baghdad, which has seen intensive insurgent violence since the US-led invasion of 2003.

Al-Maliki said that the killing of al-Zarqawi was a message to other terrorists to “stop before it is too late”.

Al-Zarqawi’s death was confirmed by “facial recognition,” Casey assured. Reports said that fingerprints and scarring were also used to confirm his identity.

Both al-Maliki and Casey said that they didn’t expect the killing of al-Zarqawi to lead to a short-term diminution of violence, but that his death was a blow to the insurgency.

Here’s how I’m reading this. Zarqawi was awakened this morning by the demons of hell doing that little tongue clicking thing the muslims were doing when the planes crashed into the World Trade Center. [You know the little film clips the MSM decided were just too upsetting for us to view but once or twice.]

He was delivered to the demons of hell by the United States of America Armed Forces. HOOAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What!?!? No virgins?!? What a disappointment. Poor guy.

He was pinpointed through ‘intellegence’. I’m not 100% what that means in this war. In Vietnam when intellegence was needed asap the captive was turned over to the Vietnamesse for interogation. Seeing as the MSM doesn’t allow our troops to do anything but ask them nicely to please help us get the bad guys. When they were interogated by the Vietnamese, they spilled their guts and we had the information we needed. I suspect allowing the Iraqi forces to interogate probably has the same affect. But I’m just speculating.

What is NOT to love about the United States Armed Forces. You want precision bombing - we can give you precision bombing!! Zarqawi goes to the bathroom this morning. He says, ‘Hey, Ahmed, did you use all the toilet paper? Hey, what’s that whistling sou….’ and is instantaneously turned into a pink and brown mist.

I fail to see a downside to this.

Oddly enough, the progressives [the new term for liberals that is old revived Communist jargon] seem to be able to find a downside. Which is why, I don’t believe they will ever win another election. They are consistantly on the wrong side of issues. But that’s for another post.

For anyone who feels sympathy for him [I know, it's hard to believe, but some do], this might help you remember who he was. Death of a Monster.

Arab media coverage.

Shamelessly lifted from Something and Half of Something:

John at Argghhh!, showing no respect for the dead, supplies us with visuals and sound effects of what the demise of Zarqawi might have been like. Zarqawi usually provides us with videos of his murders, but he neglected to do so this time.

Baloney Satire reporting from Crator of a House, Iraq supposes what Zarqawi’s last words might have been.

Texas Rainmaker says he’s Dead Dead Dead and hell has a new resident. He has some of the progressive’s reactions.

Stuck on Stupid has photos of his body and hopes all his virgins look like Helen Thomas.

The Washington Post has video of Major General Bill Caldwell describing the military operations.

Hot Air has video of air strikes and dancing in the streets.

Comments by a U.S. soldier in Baghdad this morning to his parents here: “I know it is the middle of the night there, but have you heard the news? We got Zarqawi. We bombed his place just outside of Baqubah and got a lot of them. It is so great! The guys really needed this. We are all so proud.”

We are ALL so PROUD!
