Poor chicks.

A short glance at their latest public statements makes it agonizingly obvious that they just aren’t very bright.

Lead singer Natalie Maines has notably stated:

The entire country may disagree with me, but I don’t understand the necessity for patriotism. Why do you have to be a patriot? About what? This land is our land? Why? You can like where you live and like your life, but as for loving the whole country - I don’t see why people care about patriotism.

It’s enough to make you embarrassed for her.

Banjo player Emily Robinson said:

It was the bullying and the scare factor. It was like the McCarthy days, and it was almost like the country was unrecognisable.

Unrecognizable because you weren’t being treated in the style to which you had become accustomed?

Why is it that every celebrity who irritates their audience starts invoking the name of MaCarthy? What a sense of entitlement. Maybe people just don’t want what they’re selling anymore.

According to some reports their career will survive … well, overseas anyway. That might be just as well, maybe Japan will appreciate them more. After all, they say they don’t care much for their own country.

It doesn’t really matter cause they say they don’t want ‘uncool’ fans anyway. So there.
