Dirka Dirka Mohammed Jihad

From Stars & Stripes

Marines reluctant to accept ‘Hadji Girl’ song proceeds for MWR

By Jeff Schogol, Stars and Stripes
Pacific edition, Friday, July 28, 2006

Music producers want to give a large part of the proceeds from sales of a controversial song to the Marines, but a Marine Corps spokesman said the Corps may not be able to take the money.

Alan Grossman, of Hit Music Inc., said the song “Hadji Girl” can be downloaded for $1.99 at: www.hadjigirlsong.com.

Of the proceeds, 99 cents per every purchase is earmarked to support Morale, Welfare and Recreation facilities for U.S. troops overseas.

The song outraged a Muslim- American advocacy group after a video posted on the Internet showed Marine Cpl. Josh Belile singing about falling in love with an Iraqi girl, but then being forced to kill her family after they attack him. In one line, Belile sings about using the girl’s sister as a human shield.

The Marine Corps called the song insensitive and launched a preliminary inquiry but decided not to take disciplinary action against Belile.

Producers approached Belile about recording a professional version of the song, but they ended up using a band called the Young Americans after Belile was ordered not to participate, Grossman said.

While a good chunk of song sales are intended for U.S. troops, the Marine Corps may not be able to accept the money because regulations prohibit “any donation that may bring discredit on the service,” said Bryan Driver, a Personal and Family Readiness Division spokesman.

The Marines have told the song’s producers that they need to submit a formal application letter before the Marine Corps can decide whether to accept the money, and the Marines have also suggested the producers look at giving the money to charities that support Marines, Driver said.

No matter what the Marine Corps decides, Grossman vowed to somehow get the money to Marines.

“I’ve never heard of anybody who doesn’t want money. It’s not like we did anything bad,” Grossman said.

Grossman also called the song a tribute to boot camp, saying the training paid off for the fictional Marine in the song.

“Because he was attacked and he killed everyone who tried to attack him instead of him getting killed,” Grossman said.

Belile said he intended the song to be humorous, not offensive.

“I was playing my guitar outside one day in Iraq and we had just got finished watching the movie ‘Team America: World Police’ created by Matt Parker and Trey Stone, and the catch phrase was stuck in my head, and I thought it would be funny to write a song with the phrase, ‘dirka dirka Mohammed Jihad,’” Belie said.

Belile said he gave producers permission to make a professional version of the song to support U.S. troops.

“There’s a large number of people who like it and enjoy it because it’s a good song, and I’m hoping that those people will decide to purchase this song to support the troops,” he said.

But Ibrahim Hooper, of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, said he expects the Marine Corps to reject the money because it has said the song is inappropriate.

“Acceptance of the money would indicate approval of the source,” Hooper said.

I guess some people think the ‘Hadji Girl’ song is insensitive to muslims. It looks like CAIR is upset. I don’t remember CAIR being particularly concerned about the feelings of Americans, Israelis or anyone else they consider infidels.

If it helps our Marines, go for it. The islamofascists have gotten pretty good at their own public relations propaganda All you have to do is see the stories of dead families and children they produce and get our media to show over and over to sway public opinion against our own country and against Israel..

I’m not wasting one second of worry about them.

Fighting and Marital Bliss

I haven’t written anything about marital bliss in a while. Not that there isn’t anything to write. I live with my Beloved Curmudgeon who is a veritable potpourri of writing material. Good writing material, of course [he does read this].

The thing is, we had a fight yesterday. That in and of itself is not noteworthy. Trust me on that. The noteworthy part is that neither of us yelled, stomped off, slammed a door, started crying (that would have been me), gave the silent treatment (that would have been him), or insulted one another in any way.

We disagreed in a very civil manner and discussed (discussed!!!) the matter in a mature and mutually respectful manner.

I’m not sure I can call it a fight. Although, it was a subject that we have often had knock down drag outs about. Normally, it would have been a fight. A big fight. It would have been good for at least 2 weeks of the big chill. But somehow I can’t call it a fight. It was just too civil. I suppose I’ll say it was a ‘disagreement’. How odd.

I’ve thought about this ‘disagreement’ we had several times since it happened. I shake my head in wonder. Have we mellowed after 16 years of marriage. Yeah, a little, but not THAT much.

We had an anniversary last week. Sixteen years, SIXTEEN YEARS! Which means we’ve been together 19 years. Which means I’ve lived with him longer than I’ve lived with anyone else in my life. Which is pretty sobering. Which also means that I was a mere child when I met him cause I decided to quit aging at about 39 (that was a good year so I decided to just stay there). But that’s off the subject.

He remembered our anniversary. I reminded him the day before and about halfway through the day of our anniversary, after only a couple of hard looks from me, he remembered. That’s real progress. Very significant progress.

Maybe, maybe, after all these years we are learning to get it right. That’s pretty cool.

So, I think I’ll see if he’ll take me with him to the hunt club tomorrow for target shooting. With one of his new guns ……

What's Everybody Talking About?

So What’s Everybody Talking About?

July 28 - 30, 2006

So, what IS everybody talking about?

Sondra is saying ‘No Baby’ to ‘Yeah Baby’. Buh-bye.

Alabama is sick of parents who don’t take care of their children and child abusers. So am I! So is Jo.

Lemuel discusses World War III. It started in 1979 and Lemuel pretty much has it laid out how it will end.

World War Three will end in one of three ways. The destruction of Israel and the extermination of the Jewish race worldwide along with the conversion to Islam of Europe and the United States; the reform of the Islamic religion into a non-violent form which “spiritualizes” the militant passages of the Koran, or the extermination of the Muslim people.

Fmragtops wonders if hippies are useful and if so what can they be used for.

Hooah Wife reports on more problems for Iran.

The City Troll reports on a solution to global warming. (This you gotta see!).

TMH’s Bacon Bits says the coming GOP battle is a good thing.

GM’s Corner:

Tis now the very witching time of night, When churchyards yawn and hell itself breathes out Contagion to this world.”

William Shakespeare: Hamlet; Act III, scene ii What better to describe the sheer arrogence of those decrying the defense of Israel when attacked by Hezb’ollah?

The Violence Worker has a piece about the lastest Nobel Laureate outrage. [Does the Nobel Peace Prize have anything to do with peace?]

The Gentle Cricket notes that democrats are heckling another Nobel Peace Prize nominee who actually has done something to bring peace in our time.

Seaspook Rants thinks women can’t drive! [go give him a hard time! lol]

Strong as an Ox and Nearly as Smart gives a pretty smart analysis of why the dems are wrong in stating that President Bush is the worst president ever. [h/t Seaspook Rants]

Planck’s Constant has some ‘Dear Terrorist’ letters that are excellent reading.

The Corps Blog has the story of a pretty cool rock and the cure for graffiti.

Hillary Clinton’s Bust Unveiled

A Presidential Bust of Hillary Clinton will be unveiled August 9th at the Museum of Sex.

The Corner

Accentuating her sexual power and bolstered by the presidential seal, The Presidential Bust of Hillary Rodham Clinton: The First Woman President of the United States of America will be officially open for public viewing on August 9 for a limited six week run.

Fox News

Sexy Sculpture?

Speaking of Clinton, her first “Presidential Bust” is set to be unveiled this week — at New York’s Museum of Sex.

Sculptor Daniel Edwards says the work portrays Clinton’s “youthful spirit and a face matured by wisdom,” adding, “Presented in a low cut gown, her cleavage is on display prominently portraying sexual power which some people still consider too threatening.”

Edwards says he was inspired by actress Sharon Stone, who said Clinton shouldn’t run for president because she had too much sexuality.

So Hillary is getting a ‘Presidential Bust’ eventhough she has never been president and probably never will be. And it’s being unveiled in the Museum of Sex of all places. Somehow, sexy and Hillary just never went together in the same sentence for me.

Don’t you just know that the Junior Senator from New York gets on the last nerve of her fellow Senators who have paid their dues for years and don’t get half the attention she gets. They must just dispise her.

Seeing Red with Kit and Heidi

Kit and Heidi, Euphoric Reality, do the Seeing Red with Kit and Heidi Show on W.A.R. (Wide Awake Radio).

They will be on at 11:00 p.m. tonight (Wednesday). I had to figure that out for Eastern Time because W.A.R. has it’s times on Pacific!! It took a lot of figuring.

Anyway, I’ve been listening to their show and it’s really good. I find myself having to fight the urge to call in and go on some rant.

Y’all should listen. All you have to do is go here and click on the little radio icon in the top left sidebar.

It’s really very good. And you can listen while you surf.

According to their website Misha will be their guest co-host tonight!

So listen!

UPDATE: Kit and Misha are interviewing a lawyer of the Pendleton 8 (sorry, I didn’t catch her name).
