Following are the two Tehillim that the Rabbis suggest in this troubled time:
Tehillim - Chapter 121
A song for ascents. I shall raise my eyes to the mountains,
from where will my help come?
My help is from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.
He will not allow your foot to falter; Your Guardian will not slumber.
Behold the Guardian of Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord is your Guardian; the Lord is your shadow; [He is] by your right hand.
By day, the sun will not smite you, nor will the moon at night.
The Lord will guard you from all evil; He will guard your soul.
The Lord will guard your going out and your coming in from now and to eternity.
Tehillim - Chapter 130
A song of ascents. From the depths I have called You, O Lord.
O Lord, hearken to my voice; may Your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.
O God, if You keep [a record of] iniquities, O Lord, who will stand?
For forgiveness is with You, in order that You be feared.
I hoped, O Lord; yea, my soul hoped, and I wait for His word.
My soul is to the Lord among those who await the morning, those who await the morning.
Israel, hope to the Lord, for kindness is with the Lord and much redemption is with Him.
And He will redeem Israel from all their iniquities.

Thank you Linda [Something .... and half of Something] for sharing these prayers and Theodore’s World.

I’m by no means a theological expert. I have to defer to my mother for that. I do know that the Jewish and Christian faiths are intertwined. I know that we worship the same God. I know that the Jewish faith brought civility to a brutal world; kindness, love of humanity, caring for one another, acceptance of others.
Osama bin Laden said it best when he said that we love life and they [muslims] love death and that is the difference between us.
I am assured that our Christian prayers are as helpful as the Jewish prayers at this time. Our fates are certainly interwined with that of Israel.
If you would, please pass these along and share with whoever will join in lifting our hearts and prayers for Israel.

ACLJ calls for Solidarity in Israel’s War on Terror…
It is not “just a story” on the evening news. The violence is real. The innocent lives taken are real. The bombs … rockets … missiles … and air strikes are real.

May God protect the IDF…

After hearing about the major Israeli offensive tonight, I wanted to recite some chapters of Tehilim. I couldn’t find my book so I looked around on-line for a chapter or two and found this web site. Not only did I find chapters that spoke to me but I found great blogs. May G-d protect the IDF.
Thank you beth.

I’m glad you came by Corie - I hope you went to Linda’s blog (Something and Half of Something) linked in the post. She has a wonderful blog and a great deal of information about the war, messages from friends in Israel and prayers for the IDF.
