A HUSBAND and wife arrested in the British terror raids allegedly planned to take their six-month-old baby on a mid-air suicide mission.
Scotland Yard police are quizzing Abdula Ahmed Ali, 25, and his 23-year-old wife Cossor over suspicions they were to use their baby’s bottle to hide a liquid bomb.
I think it’s hard for us to wrap our Western minds around this kind of mentality.
But we will have to start trying to understand who our enemy is. Unless we want to be defeated by suicidal islamofascists who are not only willing, but eager to murder not only Westerners, but their own children.
Are we ready yet to accept that this is a true enemy AND that a group hug won’t change them from suicidal fanatics? So many just can’t accept that there are truly evil people with evil intent in this world.
The same article reports:
The questioning of the group comes as British Government sources yesterday revealed many of those suspects posed as relief workers to travel to al-Qaeda training camps in Pakistan.
It has also been revealed that security services are secretly monitoring “dozens” of fresh plots involving hundreds of suspects which could be unleashed at any time.
One government source said at least 30 priority cases were under urgent investigation.
“All those 30 are seen as serious, determined attacks that will happen unless we stop them,” the source said.
Federal Police Commissioner Mick Keelty …..
“The phenomena of suicide bombings as a new way of taking part in terror attacks is in itself concerning, but to think or imagine that anybody would use an innocent child to join them is even more disconcerting,” he said on Channel 9.
“And I think it just goes to show you the sorts of difficulties that we’re now facing in the environment that we’re all in.”
Could it be that we are finally starting to understand that we are being much to civilized to be able to defeat this enemy? A kinder/gentler war just won’t do the job.

Blue Star, you have no comments because no-one believes this is anything but a re-run of a Children-Overboard/Huns-Bayoneting Babies/Kuwaiti-Humidicrib style disinformation campaign.
Don’t expect outrage over a story published in the Daily Telegraph, morphed into a question at a press conference and commented upon by our esteemed Police Commissioner and various right-wing politicians who have a definite agenda to push, to actually be true.
What’s your evidence that these alleged bombers were going to kill their own babies?
A snip from the Telegraph and a comment from Mick Keelty. Remind you of anything?
“I would hate to think anyone would abuse their children like that” J.W. Howard, Prime Minister of Australia, regarding the “Children Overboard” affair, later proved to be a complete fabrication.
Consider this: if this is a true report of actual facts gathered pursuant to actual formal interrogation, then any case that the British Police might have had against these “terrorists” has just been rendered inadmissable due to prejudice.
Wake up mate. Don’t believe everything you read in the Tele.
Ther are plenty of kids being bombed, shot and otherwise killed by OUR side - in Iraq, Lebanon, Afghanistan - for you to start wetting your pants over a bullshit story in a bullshit newspaper.

As to what the previous person said I don’t believe everything I read. However I know that these folks are extremist. Reguardless of all the redrick. Extreme is extreme and the Western world cannot grasp to what extent they will use to achieve their goals. It is a culture of death.

On the look-out for these radical crazy Islamic nuts using their babies as decoys-TO BLOW-UP. Who the hell would even think of such a thing much less actually plan to blow up a plane using your child?…

Our biggest problem in grappling with our enemy is our assumption that they think the way we do. They don’t.

Good read - well said Beth! I would say one of the problems is misunderstanding and mutual suspicions. I actually think – or at least hope – that blogging (sharing our thoughts, culture and habits in a friendly way) can bridging the gap so I say: Make blogs not wars!

Believing that parents would use their baby in this manner is akin to believing that Muslims would plant bombs in gym bags in a soccer field in Iraq just so they could blow up innocent children playing at games. Because that never could have happened likewise this baby story couldn’t possibly be true.
