A representative of Human Rights Watch was on Bill O’Reilly’s show tonight. The discussion had to do with using ‘torture’ to gain intelligence.
The human rights representative adamantly refused to accept that it is possible that the techniques used by the C.I.A. have been effective, eventhough credible reports are that they have thwarted at least 20 terrorist attacks. Her argument was that there is no way of knowing if the same information could have been gotten through other methods.
So what methods does she endorse, one wonders. Harsh talking. Yes, she said she would not have a problem with prisoners of war being talked to harshly in order to gain intelligence that might, probably would, save American lives.
Well, that never worked as a disciplinary measure on my kids, but maybe it will work with terrorists bent on killing us all. Sticks and stones and all that, yannow.

These human rights representatives have the IQ of plant food. Human rights for the enemy? We are not in an encounter group and this rep has no experience getting intelligent thought out of her own head much less the head of the enemy.

I know Patty - as the mother of a Soldier over there right now, I say I don’t care what they do as long as they protect our Soldiers and our country. I REALLY don’t care about these terrorists ‘rights’. They have none as far as I’m concerned.

uh huh Donna. That’s right. She said she didn’t want people killed, but she really felt harsh talk would accomplish the same thing.
When they threatened their children, they were okay with that saying ‘they will be with Allah sooner’. So what kind of ‘harsh talk’ would work??

If I were the person charged with getting info, this woman would hate me.

I get so angry at the idiots who talk about Bush endorsing “torture.” Making prisoners uncomfortable or tired doesn’t constitute torture. Don’t even get me started on the absurdity of it all.
