Mike Gallagher has offered the fine folks of Westboro Baptist Church $500,000 worth of radio air time on his show if they wouldn’t go to the funerals of the Amish girls. They took him up on the offer.
He is giving them the public forum they wanted in order to save the Amish community from being subjected to the humiliation of having to serve as their pulpit. I sincerely hope that no one listens to their time on the air. I hope they talk to dead air with no responses what so ever. I know that will be a financial loss for Mike, but he is obviously willing to make the sacrifice or he wouldn’t have offered it.
Thanks Mike. You’re THE MAN!

UPDATE: Video of Mike Gallager’s interview with the Shirley Phelps-Roper (not for the faint of heart).
Phelps: “No, they’re not going to Hell. They are in Hell. It’s an immediate transition.”
Gallagher: “So, am I going to Hell?”
Phelps: “It sounds like you are.”

That woman is no Christian and the folks that follow her are not Christians either. She is repulsive. No one should give her a voice and a forum to spew her vile theories. I know he did it to help the Amish community, but will this set a precident? I sure hope not.

The Phelps folks are idiots. Can you just imagine their surprise when they die - and find themselves in the fieriest parts of hell. They’re getting the publicity they want.

God Bless Mike Gallagher — but imagine yourself cooped up in a small radio station room with one of those creeps, who don’t look actually look like they shower very often …
For his sake, I hope it’s by phone!

I’m mixed on the idea of giving them air time, mostly because I would have liked to see them challenge a law and be locked up, thus sparing anyone from having to see them, or hear them.

That woman is a disgrace to the Kingdom. I am sure the heart of God is grieved by her actions. I applaud Mike Gallagher for giving her air time. I am sure that in the hour she is on the air she will only cement, in the minds of those who listen, her total hatred for anyone who does not share her point of view.

Too bad Mike Gallagher is a hypocritical jerk who exploited these events for his own publicity. The last time I checked, Christians don’t go around saying people who practice free speech should be put into internment camps for criticizing their own government–an act which free speech was specifically created to protect! Oh, and Christ never once said “Kill people in my name.” Not once.
