The English are causing even more problems for the Amish.

Members of a Kansas-based church that has picketed funerals of fallen American soldiers are expected to protest at the funerals of the Amish girls killed Monday in Lancaster County, according to a news release issued by the church.

The Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka blamed Gov. Ed Rendell for the mass murder of the five girls in a one-room schoolhouse because he ridiculed the church on a national television news show, the news release said.

The church said nothing about the man who shot and killed the girls and wounded five other girls. He was identified as Charles Carl Roberts IV of Bart.

Members of the church have been in the national spotlight after picketing at funerals of soldiers killed in action. The church says the military deaths are God’s punishment for tolerance of gay people.

This. Makes. Me. Absolutely. SICK.

These people are insane, but that goes without saying. Fraubudgie calls it ‘a stroke of breath-taking (but legal) sadism’. She adds:

And, once again, free speech crosses into brain-numbing cruelty, aided and abetted by US judges — who should be forced to sit with grieving family members while the protests clatter outside.

I couldn’t agree more, Frau!

This is a perfect example of exact opposite interpretations of the same religion. The hate cult is simply using the Amish for their own publicity and material enrichment. I would say they should be ashamed of themselves, but they are incapable of that.

As an aside: When people say that Christians don’t speak out against people who hijack our religion for hateful purposes, I beg to differ. This is a perfect example of that. It will not be stood for and groups like the PatriotGuard have put themselves out there to stop this hate-filled evil group of media seeking devils.

I sincerely hope that the PatriotGuard will protect the Amish as they have the families of our Fallen Soldiers. If they can’t, then I hope the neighbors and community will man a human barrier between the Amish in their time of need and these hate-filled lunatics.

UPDATE: I emailed the Pennsylvania Captain of the PGR and asked him about attending the funerals of the Amish girls to protect them from the hate cult. He responded with a VERY reasonable explanation as to why the PGR will not impose themselves on the funerals. His reaction and reasons were much better thought out than my knee-jerk reaction that they would be the perfect way to protect the Amish from these lunatics. I thank him for that.

He did tell me there are a couple of other ways in which people can help if they are interested in doing so:

~Two funds have been set up by Old Order Amish. They are both through the Coatesville Savings at 1082 Georgetown Road, Paradise, PA 17562. One fund is the “Nickel Mines Children’s Fund.” The other is the “Roberts Family Fund, for Children of the Roberts Family.”

~Capital BlueCross has created a fund. Capital will make an initial contribution of $500,000 to the fund for medical and other urgent care for the victims, and to help meet the ongoing needs of the victims, their families, and their community.

To the Patriot Guard - Thank you for what you do for our troops - we really love you guys!

I love the PGR. Those bikers have more class in their boot heels than the Phelps sleazebags will ever know.
