A 14-year-old British girl was arrested for racism when she asked to work on a project with English speaking students.
It seems she was to work on this project with ‘Asian’ students (that’s PC code for muslim) and only one of the group spoke English. The group was supposed to discuss the project.
She went to speak to her teacher ….
“I said ‘I’m not being funny, but can I change groups because I can’t understand them?’ But she started shouting and screaming, saying ‘It’s racist, you’re going to get done by the police’.”
Codie said she went outside to calm down where another teacher found her and, after speaking to her class teacher, put her in isolation for the rest of the day.
A complaint was made to a police officer based full-time at the school, and more than a week after the incident on September 26 she was taken to Swinton police station and placed under arrest.
Codie’s mother is furious. She says her daughter was only asking for something that was common sense and the school’s reaction was over the top. I can’t argue with that. Talk about an over reaction. Even if a 14-year-old girl did make an inappropriate remark, which 14-year-old girls tend to do, I hardly think arresting her is a ‘common sense’ reaction.
The school is now investigating exactly what happened before deciding what action - if any - to take against Codie.
Headteacher Dr Antony Edkins said: “An allegation of a serious nature was made concerning a racially motivated remark by one student towards a group of Asian students new to the school and new to the country.”
“We aim to ensure a caring and tolerant attitude towards people and pupils of all ethnic backgrounds and will not stand for racism in any form.”
But it’s not a caring and tolerant attitude towards all pupils of all ethnic backgrounds. The English child was not treated in a caring and tolerant manner. She was arrested and held in a cell for asking to be in a discussion group with other youth who spoke the same language she did.
Salford was at the centre of a storm last April after a ten-year-old boy was hauled before a court for allegedly calling an 11-year-old mixed race pupil a ‘Paki’ and ‘Bin Laden’ in a playground argument at a primary school in Irlam.
When the case came before District Judge Jonathan Finestein he said the decision to prosecute showed “how stupid the whole system is getting”.
But was himself fiercely attacked by teaching union leaders for “feeding a pernicious agenda” that aided the BNP.
The prosecution was eventually dropped.
As with most things, there is undoubtedly more to the story. I’m sure the version in this article isn’t all there is to it. But it’s apparent that there is a serious problem if students are being given consequences for speech that are so severe as to intimidate them into compliance.
If this is the attitude of the people of Britain, it’s no wonder that Britain’s muslim population is refusing to assimilate into the British culture. Britain will continue to have trouble with that population until they quit this type of appeasement and dhimmitude.

Liberals don’t like free speech because their arguments don’t hold up to facts, empirical evidence, data, common sense or reality so they MUST silence those who oppose their agendas.

I lived in the UK for 8 years and people mutter and grumble but seldom challenge or question what “the authorities” do. It may be a democracy in theory but in practice it is still ruled by elitists who “know what’s best for the people.” Boy, I am glad I left that open air loony bin.

I feel so bad for this little girl — that age group can be so cruel to each other, and I wonder about the social dynamics …
Her request was self respecting.

Seems like a better solution would have been to assimilate the ‘asian’ students to other groups…problem solved. Perhaps that way the ‘asians’ could have learned some english (which SHOULD be required) and something of how the West works…
I’m finding myself becoming more and more disappointed with the Brits as of late.

this is trully terrifying!
We no longer have any real fredom to speak our minds anymore!
From anecdotes that I hear from friends and colleagues to my own experience, one’s thoughts are increasingly becoming private.
Already we are censoring ourselves, in fear of loosing our jobs, or being black listed, of being arrested or ruined, of violence by Muslims that we know could not be avenged for fear of further violence!
Free speach is dead!
Long live fear!

I always thought people in the UK had more common sense than that. It’s very disappointing to me for them to be turning. I didn’t know it was an open air ‘loony bin’

WOW! Sounds like they have the ACLU in Britain just like we do here in the U.S. People need to start standing up for whats Right, not what’s appeasing to those of foreign ethnics!

And Yet More British dhimmitude…
There’s been a LOT of reports lately on how the Brits are increasingly giving into Islamofascists’ demands in the UK. Now British Airways has suspended an employee for wearing - OK, are you ready for this? A cross….

Muslims and the Diversity Jihad…
I am going to say this twice:
1) There is nothing wrong with schoolchildren making fun of foreigners.
2) There is nothing wrong with schoolchildren making fun of foreigners….

I don’t really see what was wrong with her request, i mean all she wanted to do was be paired up with partners who can speak english. what’s wrong with that. it was a school project and she can’t work on that project if she has no idea what her partners are saying. Why did she get in trouble? that’s so stupid!
