So says Brian Williams on NBC news tonight.
It seems that when our government decided to implement Operation Together Forward the general idea was to get the Iraqis to fight for themselves with American support.
The problem is that the Iraqis aren’t doing their part, resulting in American Soldiers having to do patrols in their stead. That has resulted in an increase in American casualties.
The Iraq president Jalal Talabani has asked for some areas of Iraq to be off limits to U.S. Soldiers. Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki ordered the release Wednesday of a leading member of radical cleric Sheikh Mazen al-Saedi.
Insurgents are dancing in the streets of some areas declaring victory over the United States.
If that is what the progressives in America want, they can get their wish by continuing to bad mouth America in the press and do their silly little adolescent protests. Meanwhile, they are contributing to more Americans being put in danger and more Soldiers being injured or killed.
Don’t think for a second that our enemies don’t watch our news and take great comfort from our talking heads who declare that this whole thing is hopeless. They perceive the political wrangling as weakness and are using that to their advantage.
AT THE EXPENSE OF OUR SOLDIERS.
These reporters who are so smug sitting in front of international satelite cameras with their multi-million dollar contracts bashing America are enabling the enemy. Let them find out what the enemy does to their kind and don’t worry about them anymore.
Why do you think Kim in North Korea would be so bold? Or Chavez in Venezuela, or Mucho-jihad-mullah in Iran? They would not dare go against us if they thought we would retaliate with anything other than these weak responses.
I have a plan for you. How about …
Here are the basics of the plan:
- Bring in Al-Jaazera and tell them to start filming.
- Make sure they have a good angle.
- Give civilians 24 hours to get out of town.
- After 24 hours let loose the dogs of war and show the al-Jazeera and the world EXACTLY what the United States Military is capable of.
- No more pussy-footing around.
All of the sudden, we will see an enormous improvement in the behavior of our enemies, North Korea, Iran, and all others. A nice side affect for you, President Bush, is that your poll numbers would soar. We like you when you are giving no quarter, so quit it.
You hear that President Bush? Let LOOSE THE DOGS OF WAR!
That’s what the people want.
We want victory.
We do not want the world to perceive the United States as weak. We can only tolerate losses when it is for the good our country, not when it is to try to win the approval of the rest of the world by being weak. The rest of the world won’t like us no matter what we do - so quit worrying about it.
Get serious. LET LOOSE THE DOGS OF WAR and finish the job.

Great post. We can only make the message clearer by making sure Republicans retain control of Congress. What we need is a formal declaration of war, one that not only states our national interest in stabilizing Iraq but also that makes formal our commitment to destroying Islamic expansionism and to defending our own borders. The priorities have to be spelled out and acted upon without delay or equivocation. Despite all of my disappointments with the overly politically correct approach of this administration, I think we all need to take steps to get out the vote now and continue to work hard to keep their feet to the fire to get done what needs to be done.
I agree D Ox. I’ve been very disheartened at times by the way this administration has seemed to bend over backward to get world approval (which will never happen). But I agree, our job is to hold their feet to the fire. As frustrated as I get with this administration, the dems are downright dangerous. It would be a disaster for our country if they gain control of Congress.

The military has become a bunch of pussies. Instead of unleashing their anger on the retard who put them in a place they don’t need to be — while under-funding them and under-supplying them — they go after the usual GOP-created boogeymen.
Then again, I don’t think any bloggers are actual military, just armchair generals.
