How much safer can we be than zero attacks? To do better Bush would have to travel back in time and prevent attacks that have already happened. If we run from Iraq, as we will if the party of defeat wins Tuesday, the terrorists will follow us here because they are fully aware that Iraq is a one battlefield in a larger war in which the goal is our destruction. As I believe and have stated many times on this blog - Iraq is a battle in the Global War on Terrorism. Losing there would be devastating not only to us - but to those who depend on us for their own protection. The blow would be felt world wide. As much as you might like for the US to lose - we will have a much more difficult fight ahead if we do not see this battle through.
