The election is over. HALLELUJAH!!!!
I was going to have to go stark raving mad if I heard one more political ad. I especially hated the ad with the guy singing ‘I’m handsome, My wife is impeccable …’. STOOOOPPPP!!!!!!
Well, it stopped and we have a couple of years before the onslaught begins again.
A couple of brief observations. I haven’t heard anyone screaming and carrying on about the election being ’stolen’. I haven’t heard anyone screaming and carrying on about refusing to acknowledge that Nancy Pelosi is probably going to be the new Majority Leader (as hard as that is to type!).
On a positive note, the dems can’t sit around complaining and being victimized anymore. They have regained some power so now they have to make some decisions and take some responsibility for legislation and events. If they pursue obstructionist behaviors, the people of the country will get sick of them in a hurry - and although I have no doubt they will try, they won’t be able to blame Bush for that. They will have to stand, deliver and take responsibility for their actions (or lack of actions) or they will be completely impotent when it comes to the 2008 presidential elections.
I’ve also noticed that the dems are changing their tune - already - about pulling out of Iraq. It’s one thing to sit on the side and complain, it’s another when you have to make the decisions.
Should be an interesting ride. I hope whatever happens will be in the best interest of our country.
So what are others saying …..
The Median Sib says the people in Minnesota are crazy and she’s thanking God for Tenneessee.
Woman Honor Thyself is into cliche’s tonight.
Hillbilly White Trash provides some timely comfort food for the soul. He also has a series of post mortem articles.
This That and Frog Hair says to pick up our chins and get a plan. She is already stumping for Fred Thompson for President (with Zell Miller on the ticket). So much for have a 2-year reprive from politicing! lol
The Wide Awake Cafe is concerned for our troops (as am I). The headlines and the words of the new Majority Leader, Nancy Pelosi ….the war in Iraq is “not a war to be won but a situation to be solved.†are demoralizing for the troops.
A Lady’s Ruminations has found something to laugh about.
Crazy Politico is eating crow, but with a lot of common sense and a positive attitude.
Something …. and Half of Something has a disturbing post on Channeling bin Laden. It’s a must read.

Thanks for including me in your roundup. Have you noticed that NO Republicans have said they’re so upset they need to move out of the country - or take an extended vacation — or sleep for a few weeks. The melodrama and extremist views seem to be mostly progressive/liberal/Democratic.
I thought it was predictable that someone who verbally blasted me to kingdom come after the 2004 election for “gloating” (for a mild comment I made about how conservatives didn’t talk big - they just went to the polls and voted their man in) - that person is doing some serious gloating and Bush-bashing. But then, that’s the way of the left.

I know exactly what you mean. It’s an obvious difference.
What are they going to do now that they can’t blame Bush for every thing that isn’t right in their lives?? They will be lost.
The dems are already changing their tunes on a lot of things. Now that they have to back up their words with action.

Oh, I think they will still blame Bush for everything until the 2008 election anyway. You know the left - people can’t be responsible for themselves - everything is somebody’s fault - and if you’re liberal, everything is Bush’s fault.

Just exactly what are we libs supposed to blame and on whom?

I’m with you on not hearing any more ads for a few years.
I think that the Dems will have a hard time for the next couple of years. They don’t have enough votes to override vetos, and if the GOP wishes to play the obstruction game of the last 5 years, they have the needed seats in the Senate to do it. I hope they don’t, but they can if they wish, and hearing Reid say it’s not fair would be pretty funny.

Thanks for the link. I hate to say it but those nasty ads never stopped since 2000, they were just packaged differently. I am sick of them. I am thinking of the cartoon channel and some mind numbing toons for the next 6 months.
Have a blessed rest of the week.

You’re right Carol - they’ll blame him anyway! lol
Hey Crazy Politico - I went over and read you post - it was right on target (in my opinion). I think the nicie-nice will only last a short time. Their true colors will start showing. I don’t think the obstruction games will go over well at all.
I hadn’t thought of it that way Patty - but I think you are right. It’s been non-stop critism for 5 years.

Elli-son has EntereD the GateS…
Friends,
I still can’t wrap my mind around the reality that Elli-son got elected. CA-IR is nothing but a gang of subversives, not to mention the racist, venom spewing N.-O.I. that he belonged to, despite his lies and denial.
