I’ve never done a Thursday Thirteen before. I keep seeing them everywhere and have thought I would do one, but then Thursday rolls around and sometime in the evening I might remember that I was going to do one and by then it’s too late. So, I’m prepared this week and am doing one. Although, I have no idea what I’m doing. But here it goes ….. ![]() 1. I love the tree that greets me at the bottom of my drive-way every day (pictured above). It turns a beautiful red. My up-the-hill neighbor told me she can see the top of the tree when she looks out her kitchen window and enjoys it every fall. 2. I like the way it looks from this angle too: ![]() 3. My sweet daughter was born in the fall and I love her. ![]() 4. Halloween is fun …. 5. Thanksgiving is a great time to get together with the family …. 6. Christmas is coming …. 7. I hate that we have to close the swimming pool, but I love not having to take care of it for a few months. I also love that we don’t have to pay the electric bill for the pump for a few months. The pool looks plain and leaves are all over it, but that’s just the way it is. ![]() 8. The oppressive heat of the summer is gone. 9. The air is getting crisper and has a fresh smell in the mornings. 10. I can wear boots and sweaters. 11. I love my fireplace and can start building fires in the evenings. ![]() 12. We can see the neighbors house since the leaves are falling off the trees. Seeing as he is prone to cooking out on his back deck nekkid that’s not necessarily a good thing. ![]() 13. One of the good things about the leaves falling off the trees is that we can sometimes see a bit of the sunset. ![]() Links to other Thursday Thirteens! |

Great to meet you, Beth! Glad you joined in the TT. Your pictures are awesome and I love your sidebar. Thanks for stopping by my blog - it’s still very new; I’ve only been at this blogging thing 3 months, so I’m glad you found me. Have a very happy TT and a great weekend. And drop in anytime!

The fall means a slowdown in work for me - so I’m not as fond as most - and in Southern California we don’t get the beauty of the season. However, I love Autumn in Vermont, Oregon, New York, Illinois. . . . . . .

It’s going into a very busy season for me - but I like it anyway. You can’t serious complain about living in So. Cal can you?? It’s so beautiful there and perfect weather year round!!

What gorgeous colors. My trees’ leaves aren’t quite so brilliant, but they are dropping. In summer, the whole complex is the most wonderful green place…and my second-floor apartment means that I look out my window and feel like I’m living in a treehouse.
With an internet connection.
Welcome to TT! This is my first round, as well.

She is beautiful, Beth.
I’d be careful about starting building fires, though. Not really legal, ya know
November 9th, 2006 at 9:42 am
I love your red tree! My son and I have taken to gathering fallen leaves and the red ones are our favorites.
They must drift over from somewhere, because we don’t have a red tree.
November 9th, 2006 at 9:43 am
Fall is my favorite time of the year too. Great pictures of the fall trees. Welcome to T13 you are off to a great start.

I would have to agree, I enjoy the break from having to clean the pool but do miss using it! I also love the color change of the leaves. But I hate cleaning them up once they have fallen. Luckily we did that dirty job over this past weekend and it is done and over with now.

Well, cuz, welcome to the pack (the T13 pack that is!). I love the pictures. You have GOT to have a family gathering at your house. The view from your pool area is gorgeous. I would love to see it in person!!! Boy, I’m shameless, aren’t I? I am inviting everyone to your house……
BTW…the picture of little Amanda was precious.

New addition to blogroll…
Please welcome Blue Star Chronicles to my blogroll! Beth explains that the Blue Star Banner was first introduced during World War I to indicate that a child was serving the country in the military. Her site emphasizes support for our troops. Regardless…

Nice pics and wonderful reasons to like autumn. We get a nice crisp breeze here and it is very refreshing seeing as I just moved from AL to northern NY. Major difference, and definitely a welcome one!
Happy TT!

My TT is up.

Barb - it’s gets warm here in the winter and sometimes, when the leaves are off the trees, we see WAY more than anyone wants to see. It’s not like he works out if you know what I mean. lolol
