Alcee HastingsThe soon to be House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi, has spent a lot of time and effort attempting to convince the country that the GOP had engulfed the country in a ‘culture of corruption’. She promised to clean up that corruption if only the people would elect the democrats into office.

The people, by a razor-thin margin, elected the democrats into office. Ms. Pelosi has taken that as a mandate to start her House cleaning. She is taking any corruption on the part of the GOP and raising it by democrat corruption. That is an entirely different beast.

First, she backed her long-time friend Jack Murtha for the position of House Majority Leader. Murtha’s primary claim to fame is his sedition and calling our Troops ‘cold blooded killers’. He is also known for his corrumption and lack of ethics. She was defeated in her backing of Murtha and he looked none to happy about that.

Now Ms. Pelosi is considering Alcee Hastings for the chairmanship of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.

Considering Mr. Hastings history of corruption and scandal, this is truly disturbing.

Some think the reason for her decisions are based on her own personal grudges.

I suppose if you don’t think there is really a threat from jihadists you could pay back favors by appointing someone who is ethically-challenged to a position of such importance to national security.

Frankly, it’s looking to me that Ms. Pelosi is busy paying back favors rather than looking after the best interest of the country.

I’m wondering who else she’s beholding to.
