It seems we are surrounded by attempts to turn America into a muslim state at every turn. We all recall the Flying Imans of last week. We know that we now have a muslim Congressman who is insisting on taking his oath of office with a koran. (Thanks Minnesota).
After the Flying Imans pulled their little stunt last week and then got all the media headlines by accusing everyone of racism, some imans are expressing ‘concern’ that there isn’t a place for them to pray and meditate in airports.
Airport officials said Friday they will consider setting aside a private area for prayer and meditation at the request of imams concerned about the removal of six Muslim clerics from a US Airways flight last week.
Steve Wareham, director of Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, said other airports have “meditation rooms” used for prayers or by passengers who simply need quiet time.
A group of Somali clerics met with airport officials Friday and said they would attract less attention if they had a private area for prayer. Devout Muslims pray five times daily, facing the holy city of Mecca.
“When we pray, we don’t want a problem. We don’t want what happened last week,” said Abdulrehman Hersi, an imam at Darul-Quba mosque in Minneapolis, referring to six clerics who were barred from a US Airways flight in Minneapolis after drawing the concern of some passengers.
Airports in Nashville, Tenn.; Columbus, Ohio; and Fort Lauderdale, Fla., all advertise meditation rooms. Fort Lauderdale’s is billed as “For travelers seeking a quiet time.” All note they are nonsectarian.
The imams at the airport Friday drew a few stares as they laid down their prayer rugs and knelt on the hard rubber floor at the airport.
The clerics requested a meeting after both the US Airways incident and a recent flap over Muslim cabdrivers who didn’t want to pick up passengers carrying alcohol.
“We are users of the airport, too, and we don’t want to get into a situation where Muslims feel we are being marginalized at the airport,” said Omar Jamal, executive director of the Somali Justice Advocacy Center in St. Paul and the meeting’s organizer.
Airport officials will accept the group’s invitation to visit a mosque, airport spokesman Pat Hogan said.
“I think there’s a mutual recognition that it would be helpful for there to be a solid understanding,” Hogan said.
Are we so afraid of being accused of being racists that we will turn our country over to these people who are demanding we completely change our culture to benefit them? While we are bending over backward to keep from giving the appearance of intolerance, they are creeping in and taking over.
What if I demand there is a United Methodist room in every airport so I don’t to be around Catholics, Jews, Muslims, Hindus or other Protestants? I’ll tell you what. I would have the ACLU all over me and be told I was an intolerant racist. THAT wouldn’t be tolerated. Period.
We are facing a jihad on many different levels. Direct assaults as well as the more subtle assaults on our culture and way of life here. And still the American people refuse to see what is happening right in front of us. Still we go about our business as though nothing has changed and we are still the America we once were. No worries.
God help us.

Hey Beth - just thought I’d let you know it’s the airport in Mpls., MN. That’s the same airport who is allowing it’s Muslim cab drivers to deny fares if they are carrying liquor. How they know whether a fare is carrying liquor is a mystery to me. They are going to have the Muslim (read: Somali) cabs to have a letter of some sort on top of their cab. I think it’s great, then a fare knowns whether they want to be driven by a Moslim cab driver. It’s a discrimination win:win! I said from the start this was a set up and it is. This is an effort to undermine our National Security, plain and simple. The first thing new Rep Ellison (Mpls. elect Rep - Muslim) did with this is to agree with CAIR. This guy is your basic thug who beats women. The Strib lied a streak during the campaign just to get him elected.

That’s interesting Toni. You’re right about the win:win with the cab drivers - I hadn’t though of it like that - as long as people know.
But what is going on with Minnesota that they are having all these issues with muslims up there?
I do believe that it is an ‘attack’ from within - to undermine national security.
