I don’t have the intellectual discipline to take an indepth journey through the ins and outs of the story behind this story right now. The bottom line is that it has to do with the AP story about burning Sunnis that turned out to not be true.
The ’source’ used for this story had been being used by the AP for approximately two years to validate stories of all manner of horrors in Iraq. Thing is, the ’source’ doesn’t seem to exist. That implies that the stories of all manner of horrors in Iraq are just slap not true. You can read all about it at Flopping Aces. Curt broke the story and has been following it closely.
The story behind the story is particularly outrageous because the MSMs insistance on faking news further endangers our Troops.
The thing is that now Eason Jordon has offered to send Michelle Malkin to Iraq to find the illusive source of the AP stories, Jamil Hussien. Michelle said she’d go if he’d also pay for Curt of Flopping Aces to accompany her (seeing as he’s the one who broke the story).
Michelle called Eason’s bluff. They are working out all the details for the trip. It’s up in the air if everything will be able to be worked out. The hateful leftie blogs are being … well … hateful. Nothing new there, but it is kinda amazing the depths to which they will go.
I only want to say that I have it from a source that is real and that I consider to be a very reliable source, that things in Iraq are nothing like they are being depicted in our MSM. Nothing!
I also would like to say that I know a very handsome young officer who just happens to be in Baghdad right now. If Michelle and Curt would like a personal escort and tour of a Forward Operating Base that’s never in the news and hear from some real Soldiers, I know just the right guy. He’s the very definition of Southern charm and hospitality.

Good for Michelle. Good for you. Good for your hubby - may God bring him back safely. And… I have to say that I don’t even watch the stupid news any more. Heavy on the stupid there. I get stuff online and listen to conservative talk shows, and read a dose of right wing blogs now and then. I find I get more news from blogs than even the stupid articles. Heavy on the stupid there, too.
My hubby was over in Baghdad for two months as a contractor, and he made good friends with Iraqi citizens who he was overseeing (they cried when he left and mailed us Christmas gifts that year). Those people are NOT like what they depict on the news. The reject terrorists who are blowing things up are sneaking in from Syria, Jordan and Iran. My husband’s buddies over there lost their home and were threatened that if they continued to work for the “Infadel” Americans, they would be killed. They had to move to another town and continue to be pro-American. The man’s three daughters dream of one day living here and BECOMING Americans.
There are people worth fighting for over there. Freedom is worth fighting for. Your man is doing the right thing.

I’m not surprised that they’ve found verification that the MSM reporting is incorrect. However, I doubt we’ll hear about that on CNN or ABC or any of the others.
