Last year, America continued its mission to fight and win the war on terror and promote liberty as an alternative to tyranny and despair. In the New Year, we will remain on the offensive against the enemies of freedom, advance the security of our country, and work toward a free and unified Iraq. Defeating terrorists and extremists is the challenge of our time, and we will answer history’s call with confidence and fight for liberty without wavering.~ President George W. Bush’s 2007 New Year’s Day Message

Thanks for the New Year message from the President - I missed it!
I recently watched Bill O’Reilly in Iraq and soldiers were asked their honest opinions regarding the war, the President, etc. I remember one young man because he eloquently stated that at the beginning of the war, the President warned American’s that the war would be long, costly, etc, and that many American’s have no patience and want a quick fix for everything, which is something I believe too.
Progress takes time but do we have the endurance to see it through? I know our soldiers do, but what about the rest of us?
