It’s all over a man. When is it ever not over a man?
I watched most of the bail hearing for Astronaut U.S. Navy Captain Lisa Nowak this afternoon and it struck me that the prosecutor was as incompetent as Nowak was incontinent. The judge seemed to be begging the prosecutor to give him something that he could use to keep Nowak in jail. The prosecutor didn’t seem to be hearing the judge and never brought into evidence any of the facts of the case, as known so far, that would have prevented Nowak being released on bail.
She kept giving her opinion that Nowak shouldn’t be released on bail. In spite of the judge asking her three different times to produce evidence or a witness, the prosecutor just kept offering her opinion without supporting evidence or witnesses.
So, Nowak was released on $25,000 bail.
As anyone paying attention knows by now, Astronaut Lisa Nowak made a 900 mile trip from Texas to Florida to confront a woman she perceived as competing for the affections of another astronaut.
The trip and crime were extremely well planned. Listening to and reading about the detailed planning made me think of someone on a hunt. Apparently, she was on a hunt.
She is now claiming she only wanted to scare the woman. But she drove 900 miles in adult diapers, stayed a hotel under an assumed name, paid cash, followed the woman in the airport until they were alone in the parking lot, and had lethal weapons with her. The prey of this hunt was able to get into her car and call the police for help.
It will be interesting to follow this case. It’s intriguing on a lot of different levels. I feel sorry for Nowak’s husband and children who are being subjected to this humiliation. I feel sorry for the victim and her boyfriend (the object of Nowak’s misguided affections). I can’t help but wonder what happened to Nowak that she would go from a successful astronaut to a stalker … or … was she always obsessive.
Will she be found guilty of stalking, attempted kidnapping and murder? It depends.

What a dopy stunt to pull. Similar to “going postal.” I suspect she was a loner in a crowd. Amongst but isolated.
This serves to prove that just because on is educated and accomplished they are human–not the icons people turn them into. What a moonbat - such an irresponsible act. I heard today she is going to plead temporary insanity and it figures. These days it is all about the excuse instead of taking on ones responsibility for their own actions.

BSC: LOL - thanks, I have to give my Beloved Curmudgeon credit for that though. When the story first came out he said something about her being a space cadet rather than an astronaut - so I stole that from him! lol
