I’m know that by now every one has heard all they ever want to know about William Arkin and his insulting, belittling, ungrateful, condescending anti-military rant. There’s nothing I can add to the outrage that has been so well stated in many other blogs.
I actually read what Arkin wrote and it came across to me much worse than the news clips I had heard about it. The condescending and contemptuous tone was undeniable and nothing short of disgusting.
As I understand it, Arkin is a long-time socialist known for his inflammatory rhetoric. His insight and understanding of the larger issues at hand is pathetic. Everything is viewed through his own personal agendas. What can one expect from someone like that.
The thing that got to me today was watching a news show in which a journalist was giving Arkin a little bit of his own medicine. He wasn’t taking the medicine well at all. He was ignoring the reporters and packing up his car.
What I saw in the piece was that his childrens faces were blurred, an apparent effort to shield them from the press. Is that professional courtesy? A ‘journalist’ is exposed for the fraud that he is so his colleagues give him the courtesy of protecting the identity of his children.
That seemed odd to me.
Apparently, William Arkin only believes in Freedom of the Press when it furthers his own agendas. He certainly didn’t hesitate to slam horrible insults at my son who is serving honorably in the War against Jihadists as well as every other Soldier serving our country. He holds my son in utter contempt. Why then does he have the right to hide his sons in anonymity when he has chosen to put himself in the spotlight?
I mean, what’s good for the goose is good for the gander.

Arkin is a typical leftard, free speech for him, but not for anyone who disagrees.

I understand what Arkin is saying. Democracies must have civilian control over the military.
If the American people decide against something, the military must comply, because they are mere employees of the people.
Lately, idiots have been suggesting that Americans mustn’t express any views that are contrary to the personal views of the brain-dead hired mercenaries in the military.
This is very dangerous, it undermines democracy in the U.S.
BSC: You type English well, are you an ex-pat or a Serbian?
You are sitting in a country that was beat like a rented mule by the American military, so I guess a little resentment on your part is understandable. Is your resentment towards America and our military because your own country can’t stand up to us or because of the ‘don’t ask, don’t tell policy’?
Next time your country starts to flex it’s muscles and needs a little protection or help, I suggest you call the Fwench.
Yes, cause we all know that it is the hight of patriotism to smear our troops and undermine the mission, which, BTW, emboldens the enemy.
People are more then welcome to say what they want, but they should understand that there are real world consequences to their words, as well as their actions. I know, I know, responsibility is a word that those on the Left cannot seem to wrap their minds around.
BSC: AMEN! But this guy is from Belgrade - at least his IP address is from Belgrade. Plus, he came here looking for Abu Ayyub al-Masri. I don’t think he’s on our side
In that case, maybe he should be thanking the US military, who helped save his azz, since they were the backbone of the UN mission. I hired a guy from the former Yugoslavia, who was very thankful for what we did, and loves living in America.
If the military is so brain dead, why do they tend to have higher testing scores then the general population (and tend to vote GOP)? If they are so brain dead, how did they save Europes collective azz twice during the last century in military combat?
To quote Jack Nicholson, “maybe he should just say thank you.” To quote Pandagon, “maybe he should just go f*** himself.”
you suck!
BSC: That’s clever.
