Al Gore won an Oscar for his movie ‘An Inconvenient Truth’. This was a lock, of course, because all the beautiful people in tinsel town are environmentally sensitive and love the beauty of nature. Many own second homes built in pristine areas of the country so they can enjoy all the untouched beauty of these places. Not counting the slight touching necessary to build their homes.
Their new mantra is global warming and the recession of the polar ice cap. I guess things have been warming up lately and the polar ice cap is receding. The cause of all this is not really clear however. The polar ice cap used to cover most of North America and extend down to Kentucky and has been receding — for the last four million years. Another one of those inconvenient truths.
‘Ol Al wants to help the environment by asking all of us to reduce our carbon footprint thereby doing our part for the climate. Good idea Al, maybe you can start by reducing the dimension of just your regular footprint. Have you seen the size of this guy? He is rapidly becoming the poster child for morbid obesity. The best thing he could do for the environment is to back off the grub a little bit and give the rest of the food chain a break.
Al Gore would have won the 2000 presidential election if he could have carried his own state of Tennessee. We could have a President Gore! He may decide to run again. That is an inconvenient truth that should cause all of us to break out in a cold sweat.

Al Gore’s Inconvenient Truth…
I just read one of the best posts on Al Gore and his “Inconvenient Truth” crap that I’ve ever read. It was written by Beth’s “Beloved Curmudgeon.” Here’s a taste:
Ol Al wants to help the environment by ask…
Did you even see the documentary? It clearly points out how carbon dioxide is increasing at an incredulous rate which the planet may survive, but human species will not. To say that the polar ice caps have been decreasing for 4 million years is to minimize the science that went into “An Inconvenient Truth”, and which is the focus of a new coordinated study by over 50,000 scientists during “The International Polar Year” http://www.enn.com/today.html?id=12298
It’s easy to take cheap shots at someone like Gore, but much harder to stand up for something that nobody believes but is vital to understanding our future survival on this planet.
I’m reading a book by Thomas Homer-Dixon called “The Ingenuity Gap” - he says in the prologue that “our species’ scientific and technological prowess is nevertheless extraordinary. We create miracles from raw nature, and we have revolutionized our existence in a few lifetimes. These accomplishments are to be celebrated. Unfortunately, they have also made us overconfident of our ability to solve the problems we face. Today, a disturbingly large proportion of people in rich countries seem to believe that our ingenuity is practically boundless and that our technical experts have all the authority and knowledge they need to deftly manage our ever more complex world. These beliefs and the complacency they produce are often completely unwarranted: in fact, we often have only superficial control over the complex systems we’ve made and critically depend upon.”
Now there’s another inconvenient truth for you. Poke fun at it if you wish.
Global Warming Today: The 17,000…
Don't you just love that meme, that "everyone believes in global warning (as caused by Mankind)," which of course refers to the fact feeling that every scientist backs man and CO2 causing it? But, is that really true? No (via The Anchores…
What science in “An Inconvinient Truth?” You mean completely ignoring the reports that stated that the polar bears in the movie died due to a large storm, and not global warming?
You seem to have forgotten to post any of that science, Susan, instead going down political roads. CO2 is a minimal amount of the atmosphere, and has little to do with any temperature changes. Heck, the UN report shows an average of less the 1 degree C since about 1850. That is not very much. Approx 1.35 degrees F. Considering that the Little Ice Age ended around 1850, and there were NO CARS back then, kinda hard to figure out.
And, it is interesting that all the global warming as caused by Man disciples conveniently forget about that big ball that rises every morning and can blind you if you stare at it. And how about underwater volcano’s? They heat up the oceans (which, according to the UN report, are much warmer, particularly the Mid atlantic, where there are thousands of miles of volcano’s), as well as releasing greenhouse gases, such as methane, into the water which escapes into the atmosphere. Methane is much worse then CO2 when it comes to the greenhouse effect.
If the UN report is so great, why are there so many scientists names on it who have objected, saying that was not their conclusion? Why are scientists who believe in other views, based on science, ostrasized? Why is there no debate? Why? Because then the global warming as caused by man issue would be shown to be a sham, done simply for money and prestige.
