The airports of Dubai, Qatar, and Bahrain closed suddenly last Friday for an hour or two. A senior Gulf official attributed the closure to the possibility of preparations of the airspace for anticipated military operations, as happened on the eve of the two Gulf wars.

I don’t know how credible this report is. We can only hope that our politicians have somehow magically gathered together enough courage to actually DO something about Iran. Not to mention to do something to protect our Troops who are fighting Iranians in Iraq without the support of the American people.

Simple. Move war North.
BSC: Exactly - take it to them instead of sitting in Iraq and letting them bring to our Soldiers there.
Can you please try and write news without attacking your fellow citizens with generalities that don’t apply? Your opinion is valid, but why do you have to attack others, whose reasons are not always what you think they are? Why be so negative?
BSC: Frankly - I fail to see how this is an attack on my fellow citizens. What attacks do you see in this post about the closings of Middle Eastern ports?
KuwaitTimes.net had this short take on the story, Beth…
KUWAIT: The sudden closure for some GCC airports last Tuesday raised different questions which made a GCC official say, “What has happened reminds us of what the area has witnessed before the first and second Gulf wars.” The official said the reason for the closure might have been due to the usage of airports for expected military operations similar to what happened before the first and second Gulf war. Skies were suddenly closed on Tuesday and planes scheduled for take off and landing were stopped in Dubai, Qatar and Bahrain for periods that lasted between one to two hours for each airport all day long on Tuesday.
Things that make ya go… HMMMMMMMM……
AubreyJ………
BSC: What do you make of that Aubrey? Especially in light of another fleet of battleships being dispatched to the Persian Gulf?
You’re right - it’s more on the lines of negative than attacking. You provided us with new information, but insinuate that the troops are not supported. Since you obviously are supportive of the troops, I took it as another jab at people who didn’t support the war. Unfortunately, pro-war folks never seem to believe that some people against the Iraq war (not against the war in Afghanistan) support military personnel - I pray for the ones I know personally. But you once accused people who did not support the Iraq war of wishing for a war loss just to “prove Bush was wrong.” That does not apply to many people. You wrote “without the support of the American people” but I don’t think you meant that to apply to yourself.
Been to Manama Bahrain and it’s a great US Naval port and airstrip. Frau Vader misses those perfume oil concentrates!
Our ‘infidel’ missions took us to Norfolk - Rota - Sigonella - Gulf and back. Liberals and treasonous Demlibloonies don’t have Official US Passports nor haven’t been anywhere! IF anything is going on over there, our airmen and troops lives depend on the world NOT knowing about it! In Somalia we told CNN - the Communist News Nutwork- to kiss our butts.
…+ CNN +… oooops! Friendly fire…too bad! “Reload!”
Happy Easter Liberty Belle Beth and Jesus has risen again!
