antisemitismAntisemites celebrated the beginning of Passover with bombings, graffiti and anti Israel rants.

In Montreal a Jewish center was attacked with a homemade bomb. In San Francisco, the largest synagogue in the city was defaced swastikas over the Passover festival. In predominantly Jewish Bergen County, New Jersey swastikas and anti-Jewish graffiti were found engraved into the playground of a Wallington park. A synagogue in Chicago was defaced with antisemitic graffiti, spray painted in English and Arabic.

antisemitismThe drawing to the left was found in a study room at Princeton University.

A rough drawing of a building labeled “Jewish library” with missiles headed toward it was found in a Princeton University common room. Also in the path of the missiles were stick figures labeled “little Jews.” A swastika graced the top of the sketch.

Jewish students presume the drawing is a reference to a Jewish fundraising drive for an elementary school in northern Israel damaged during the Second Lebanon War last summer.

Most recently we have the racist rant at the Daily Kos.

Are we outraged? Are we rioting? Are we scared? Will we continue to keep our heads in the sand and pretend there is no thread (as our predecessors did in 1930)? I imagine the bad actors will continue to get a pass. For now.

Pray for Jerusalem
