I guess Prince William has turned into a frog for Kate Middleton.
The couple have had a four-year relationship that seemed destined to produce the next Queen of England. It seems though, that now that the Prince has begun his Army career, Kate is feeling left out and doesn’t like it a bit.
She doesn’t like playing second fiddle to his career. That seems odd considering she was considering marrying the next King of England. Did she think she WOULDN’T come second? Third? or further down the line?
They say the downhill slide began with Prince William’s commissioning last December.
PRINCE William’s romance with Kate Middleton was doomed when he decided to put Army life first, pals claimed last night.
Last month the pair seemed happier than ever as they skied down a Swiss mountain together, stopping only to kiss and hold each other close.
From the outside all the signs seemed to suggest the young lovers were just weeks away from announcing their intention to wed.
But in reality, it is understood they had been on a downward spiral since Kate saw the 24-year-old future king passing out from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in December last year.
Friends say William, now a fully-fledged officer in the Blues and Royals, has engrossed himself in Army life  preferring to go out drinking with his colleagues than drive back to London to see Kate.
When he began his 2½-month tank commander course at the Army’s school of armoury in Bovington, Dorset, on March 16, the relationship was in freefall.
The course means the Prince is stuck on an isolated base from Monday to Friday each week. [source]
Apparently, she is under too much pressure with the press following her and William having to start a career. If she can’t handle this, then it is a good time for her to get out. It will only get worse.
But how exactly does someone have a career in the Army and get to spend all their time with the family? I’d like to know. I haven’t seen my son in three years. His girlfriend is waiting for him with her heart in her throat half the time. Men have careers. Military men are gone from their families for long periods of time and are in constant danger while deployed. The families have to be tough enough to handle the long absences and the uncertainties.
Even princes and kings are men and if they don’t they SHOULD do something for their country. They certainly SHOULD be willing to defend their country at arms. If that is anything other than a ceremonial position, that takes real life training and experience. That means separations and difficulties. That means all your time can’t be spent at playboy pursuits on the Swiss Alps.
Welcome to the world the rest of us live in.

Beth…this has nothing to do with this article but I wanted you to see this. I tried to get it to show up and stay put on Sass, but I don’t have the tech know-how.
Thought maybe you might want to see/use it, tho. It’s “remember me ?”

She’s a cutie. He’s an idiot. >-)
That was supposed to be “she’s and idiot.” Dropped the s.
Kate forgets about the islamomaniacs destroying their double-decker busses and subway cars, eh? Most civilians have absolutely NO idea how military families bond and deal with the military way of life in war and peace. Most civilians, especially liberals, that haven’t worn a military uniform, or has family or loved ones that have, or are blest to live around US military installations and naval ports - have no idea what ‘patriotism’ and ‘Duty, Honor, Country’ and ’selflessness’ and ’sacrifice’ are all about! Our nation’s 230-year blest and glorious history tells us that FREEDOM isn’t FREE - period.
Indeed. If she can’t stand it now, it’s best that they move on. I can’t help but wonder though if it’s not so much the military rather than the fact that he is “preferring to go out drinking with his colleagues than drive back to London to see Kate.”
She has to realize that the comraderie that needs to develop amongst a unit is very important, and wives and girlfriends do take a backseat at many times during military careers. If it tips too much the other way though, there can be problems as well. Is Wills tipping too much the other way?
