It looks like Paris Hilton is going to have some new material for her show ‘The Simple Life’. She is being treated as though she were a regular person, only in real life this time!

From the National Ledger.

Paris Hilton is likely going to do some time in the Los Angeles county lock up. The 26-year-old socialite was sentenced to 45 days in prison by Judge Michael T. Sauer at Los Angeles County Superior Court on Friday, after she was found guilty of violating her probation on an alcohol-related reckless driving charge. However, it may be for a month and a half, and it may be for only a few hours depending on the crowding at the jail. Either way, the Hilton’s are not happy.

Rut-Roh!

Her mother seems more upset than she was when Paris leaked her someone leaked Paris’ sex videos to the internet. I’m sure they were upset. Surely?? I don’t remember them making any statements about that. But I’m sure they were upset.

Momma Hilton is not happy either. According to Hollywood.com Kathy, who joined the hotel heiress in court with her husband Rick, has voiced her anger at the shocking sentence, which was handed down to Paris for driving her Bentley with a suspended license in February.

She fumes, “This is pathetic and disgusting, a waste of taxpayer money with this nonsense. It’s a joke.”

And Paris herself is not hamming it up for the cameras…..

The day after she was sentenced to 45 days in the slammer for violating her probation by driving with a suspended license, Hilton walked outside her house and told a gaggle of camera people, “I told the truth yesterday. I feel that I was treated unfairly.” Hilton called the sentence “both cruel and unwarranted” and added “I don’t deserve this.”

Paris, being unfamiliar with the term ‘consequences’ had to have the definition of the term read in court. She took notes and asked for the correct spelling so that she could have one of ‘her people’ verify the meaning of the term for her later when she got home.

Apparently, Paris has written a personal note to President Bush asking for his intervention. She is scheduled to enter the Century Regional Detention Facility in Los Angeles County on June 5th to begin serving her sentence.

She and her family are very distressed as these sorts of expectations for behavior have not been part of their repertoire. Obeying the law and all, you know. How do you pack? What do you wear? Will you get you own breakfast prepared at noon?

Very distressing, indeed!

Seriously, the judge might be trying to save the girls life.

The Washington Post has some information of what Paris can expect behind bars.

MVRWC has some insightful commentary on this event.

John at Argghhh! thinks some parental guidance might have saved Paris this discomfort. Wow - pretty harsh, John!!
