Edwin R. Hall is charged with the kidnapping and murder of Kelsey Smith. Someone sent a link to his MySpace page to the Kansas City Star’s crime blog.
The AP is reporting on the contents of his page.
OLATHE, Kan. — Amid mentions of family, a love of fast cars and interests in reading and painting, a MySpace page that appears to be that of a man accused of kidnapping and killing a teenager contains some bizarre references that turn more disturbing in light of the criminal charges.
The general interests include “eating small children and harming small animals,” but also photography and painting and wanting “to own my own company someday.” The author describes himself as a “Sweet Troubled Soul.”
Shudder …
After the page was made public there were numerous postings left there.
By Thursday, “Jack’s” page had more than 200 postings from people hurling invective at Hall. “Aletha’s” page also had many postings _ most in sympathy but many accusatory _ before the page was made private that evening.
Aletha is his wife.
It always bothers me that people with potential and promise, people who contribute to society are brought down by those with deranged minds who will be nothing but a drain on society. I know, that’s the way it is. If they weren’t deranged they wouldn’t do such horrific things. It just feels like reverse-evolution to me.

Paul Cramm, who has since become Hall’s attorney, attended the appearance Thursday and asked Johnson County District Judge Peter V. Ruddick to keep Hall in Johnson County and that he “not be farmed out” because of the volume of evidence in the case.
“That way I’ll have availability to meet with him and review the discovery material prior to the hearing,” Cramm said.
