Cindy’s Back!
After an incredibly short retirement from the public eye, Peace Mother Sheehan is back in the news. It seems like just six weeks ago she said she was going to take herself out of the public forum and ‘try to be normal’. She said at the time that she wanted to pay more attention to her three living children. In fact, it WAS just six weeks ago.
Now the Associated Press is reporting that the face of the anti-war movement is taking on her former friend, Nancy Pelosi.

(CRAWFORD) Cindy Sheehan, the soldier’s mother who galvanized the anti-war movement, said Sunday that she plans to run against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi unless she introduces articles of impeachment against President Bush in the next two weeks.Sheehan said she will run against the San Francisco Democrat in 2008 as an independent if Pelosi does not seek by July 23 to impeach Bush. That’s when Sheehan and her supporters are to arrive in Washington, D.C., after a 13-day caravan and walking tour starting next week from the group’s war protest site near Bush’s Crawford ranch.
“Democrats and Americans feel betrayed by the Democratic leadership,” Sheehan told The Associated Press. “We hired them to bring an end to the war. I’m not too far from San Francisco, so it wouldn’t be too big of a move for me. I would give her a run for her money.”
Messages left with Pelosi’s staff were not immediately returned.
She plans her official candidacy announcement Tuesday. Sunday wrapped up what is expected to be her final weekend at the 5-acre Crawford lot that she sold to California radio talk show host Bree Walker, who plans to keep it open to protesters.

I don’t know whom of the two I dislike more, but the activity splits the opposition. This is good and entertaining for the blogs. javascript:moreSmiliesAappendSmiley(’P-)’)

I know what you mean! It really is a toss up, but you can’t deny it’s entertainment value!

This could be a blessing in disguise. If Sheehan wins we are rid of Pelosi and Sheehan will be relegated to a powerless freshman congresswoman hardly in a position to make a lot of noise. Maybe all of us conservative patriots should back Sheehan’s election. Devious yes but if the left can use her without her realizing it why can’t we?

Veritas could be right. I hate that she’s back though. I thought we were rid of her. Oh, well, another empty head in Congress? What’s one more?

Sheehan vs. Pelosi . . . Quite a hoot! Sheehan couldn’t be normal for 6 weeks. Wonder who is pushing her in this latest move?

Excellent post! I have moved…again. I am moving from Word Press to Blogspot. Easier to contain the trolls that way.

Is there NO END to this woman’s audacity. She should be mourning the loss of her son, and comforting her surviving children, instead of threatening politicians with a possible run against them. I can understand her pain over the loss of her son, but ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
Is there noone in her family that can make her understand how she has become a laughing-stock over her outrageous antics?
Everyone has the right to express their feelings, and to protest, but, at a certain point, get over yourself.
We are at war, and this is not the time to show such division.
I would hope that, at some point, she would reflect on some of her actions, and temper her deeds and remarks.

Oh Lord - not Cindy Shenanigans again. She’s crazy - nothing else could explain her bizarre behavior and words.

If she thinks the peace activists were hurtful and ego-driven (which they are), she hasn’t seen nothing yet. If she were to be elected - there being a good chance here in LaLa Land - she wouldn’t last through the first coffee klatch of the House. Talk about ego-driven!
You don’t get elected by playing nice.
