The words of Ronald Reagan in this speech ring true to our situation today.
We have a rendezvous with destiny. The question is, what path will we as a nation choose. Will we choose enslavement over death or death over enslavement. The discussion in this video applies to our situation today. The same arguments are being made by the same people. Some will choose to live on their knees rather than die on their feet.
The greater threat lies in appeasement. To avoid conflict creates unavoidable conflict.
Those of us who choose to confront the danger are called warmongers. We are accused of being simpletons, suggesting simple solutions to complex problems. They say that about us today as they did when we were under threat from the Soviet Union. As Reagan points out, perhaps there is a simple answer to the problems we are faced with, but it’s not an easy answer.
Each generation before us has had the same naysayers and appeasers. Each generation, the people have risen to the challenge and proven to be stronger of will than those who say they speak for us. In each generation before us leaders have risen up to lead us through the struggles our parents and forefathers had to face. It remains to be seen if our generation has the strength to rise to the challenge that is ours to face.

My goodness, Beth. This is a masterpiece!! What a video!!
Even if I’m not US National -as you are well aware ;-> -, this is the kind of human beings that makes you feel proud being one.
Yeah, the situation is so similar. The surrendering appeasement is always the most easy path … at first. Then it gets much more complicated… (:-&
A friend of mine -very Socialist- looked at me once in a very compassive manner when I said I admired Reagan as US Prez. Next time she tells me anything about Zapatero, I am going to show her this video…. >-(
