Hate to disagree with a fellow conservative, Perry, but, they can be impeached, depending on which legal and civil rule you are looking at. There is some confusion over whether a Congress Critter is a “civil officer of the USA.”

However, they can be expelled from Congress:

Article I, Section 5, of the United States Constitution provides that “Each House [of Congress] may determine the Rules of its proceedings, punish its members for disorderly behavior, and, with the concurrence of two-thirds, expel a member.” Since 1789, the Senate has expelled only fifteen of its entire membership.

I would think, in Reality Land, that Murtha’s behavior is “disorderly.” In Liberal World, they love his behavior.

I agree with Perri - sad but true. Murtha is Pelosi’s pet and I highly doubt someone who is trying to take over the executive branch would even think about censoring Murtha. >-(

I don’t think members of Congress can be impeached. They can certainly be censured, and they can be expelled from their house of Congress by a two-thirds vote. In any case, it will never happen. As long as Murtha’s party controls Congress he won’t even be censured.

It’s sad really that politics has fallen so low.
