There’s been a resurgence of interest in the case of Madeleine McCann following a possible sighting of her by a child psychologist in a restaurant in Tongeren, Belgium on the Dutch border.
The woman who saw the child says she is 100% certain it was her. She even took the cup the child was drinking from for forensics. I haven’t heard what became of any testing that was done on the cup.
Four-year-old Madeleine McCann has been missing since her abduction from her hotel room in Portugal on May 3rd. Her parents launched a worldwide media campaign in an attempt to find their missing daughter and have remained in Portugal since her abduction. As it is with all of us, we are acutely interested and then, unless we are personally affected, our interest gets diverted to other things until something happens to bring us back to this.
With this possible sighting of Madeleine in Belgium the police in Portugal are once again searching the property of the only person who has ever been named as a suspect in her disappearance, a 33-year-old Briton Robert Murat. His property was searched shortly after Madeleine disappeared, but they are back again with the property cordoned off. They are currently digging through the heavy vegetation on the property and will later make a decision as to whether or not they will bring in equipment to dig.
Meanwhile, a sketch has been issued of a Dutch man and English woman who were in the restaurant with the child when they were sighted by the child psychologist.
