I too felt the agonizing realization that more than half the population went on with their daily lives as if not at war. What most of the population in our sad world thinks is important is beyond me. My son did make it back from Iraq after being hit with an RPG and staying in Iraq for another six months only to return home a shell of a man. I lost my son but you cannot see his wounds on the outside. I miss the young man I sent off to war and feel that it is time for the United States to be just that "United". Either we give our soldiers our everything or get them the hell out of there!!!! Our President let his nation down.... and our Brave Soldiers are paying the price........ Why won't the damn MSM turn our real heroes in the Military into the same "icons" as these idiots running around with a ball, or driving drunk ? There are damn few experiences more humbling than looking a soldier in the eye. Your frustration with yet another extension is completely understandable. We have all experienced similar circumstances. Yet, drafting punks off the street is not the answer. Our professional military would was precious time trying to train "punks" with limited if any success. We need to make military service a priority in the country again and pay them accordingly.
