Blackfive is discussing an interview with the Soldier who was shut down at the YearlyKos military forum over the weekend. Rick Moran interviewed Sergeant David D. Aguina and asked him why he had walked into the lion’s den, Sgt. Aquina replied, ‘This is part of the battlefield.’
This country managed to have a war-like footing for a bit right after 9/11, but normality here has gone almost completely undisturbed. The public has not felt any sacrifice as a whole, but they have been subjected to the relentless drumbeat of doom put out by the media. There are quite a few folks working on that message and reminding people we can lose this war if we let Congress play politics with it. The Democrats have been at it for a while, and they failed at their recent attempt at surrender, but Sept is their next chance and we have to remind them and the people they represent that a vote for retreat now steals defeat from the first real good chance at victory we have had.
He puts into words what I have struggled with all this time.
We have the fire power to win this war very quickly. Our fighting forces are the best in the world and can face any army of men. Our military will not lose this war.
This war will be won or loss based on the outcome of the civil war of ideology that is being waged here within the United States. Our society will fall or rise on the outcome and most of us don’t have any idea there is even a battle going on.
