The Haditha Marines, otherwise known as the Pendleton 8, have been locked up since Pennsylvania Congressman John Murtha declared they were guilty of ‘cold blooded murder’ in 2005.
Apparently, Murtha believes they should be guilty until proved innocent. Surely, he wouldn’t have used the lives of these Marine war veterans, the morale of our Armed Forces in general and the well-being of our national security for his own political gain. Surely not!
But now, those very same Marines that Murtha stood up in front of the world and declared to be out of control killers, are being exonerated and cleared of the charges against them.
Just out of curiosity, how will Murtha make amends for what he’s put these Marines and their families through? Will he make sure they get as much publicity for their acquittals as he did for his presumption of guilty? Will he ask for forgiveness for his mind-boggling greed and power hunger? Will he apologize to the country for undermining our strength as a nation by damaging the morale of our Troops and announcing to the world that we will eat our own for personal gain?
John Murtha is guilty of cold-blooded destruction of the lives of these heroic Marines! Our nation should hang its head in shame for what we allowed to be done to these young men to voluntarily went into harms way to serve their country. Our enemies are treated better.
How will he undo the damage he has done to these young mens’ lives and careers? How will he give those young men these past two years back?
President Bush, you need to intervene and praise these Marines and chastise Murtha for his irresponsible actions against our Armed Forces and against our country.
Are you outraged? You should be! Write about this on your blog and spread the story until Murtha can no longer ignore the consequences of his behavior. Write your Senator and Congressmen and demand Justice for our Marines. Write President Bush and let him know that the American people will not stand for our Men at Arms being slandered and mistreated at the hands of our elected officials.

According to Senator Murtha, the Marines accused of murder at Haditha do not deserve a formal apology from their accusers. Legally, these Marines have been acquitted of all charges related to their actions at Haditha; therefore, they are not killers. Any comments made in public to the effect that these men are murderers is slander, plain and simple. I believe it is time the Marines who have been disgraced as a result of the Senator’s reckless accusations take the appropriate action to make things right. The Senator, as well as any other member of Congress and the Media, who has called these men cold-blooded killers in an open and public forum should be asked to respond to these comments in a court of law. Yes, since the Marines have been acquitted in a Court of Law, Congress and the Media should be sued for Slander and Liable. If Congress and the Media continue to make comments like the ones that prompted this, it will set a dangerous precedent if it is let to stand unanswered.
The Senator from Pennsylvania said, in 2005, the Marines were cold-blooded killers before charges or a trial were brought forward. Unless I am mistaken, people in this country are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law, even members of the military on active duty.
During World War II, troops on both sides did what their commanders asked of them without fear of reprisal. When the war was over, both sides sorted out the actions and took appropriate measures to punish those who committed crimes against humanity.
It is time that we let our men and women in uniform do the job they were trained to do. Let our troops end this so they can come home victorious.

to do this to my fellow brothers and sisters in arms is ridiculous. i worked with some of the pendleton 8 and they never were and never will be “cold blooded killers” these men were just doing as they were told. and that was to protect these money hungry politicians that think that they can say whatever they want with out getting penalized. in my opinion the politicians should go do the job that we do over there just to see what it is like to live as a foreigner in another country where you are not wanted. on top of that they get all this respect that they do no deserve. the respect that is given to these politicians needs to be given to the military men and women who have and are still fighting for our freedoms abroad and at home. these military men and women do their jobs unlike others in this country, let us do it in peace and without getting criticized from someone who does not know anything about the job that we do. bring our men and women home to their families and friends. semper fidelis! hoorah!
