Legally, these Marines have been acquitted of all charges related to their actions at Haditha; therefore, they are not killers. Any comments made in public to the effect that these men are murderers is slander, plain and simple. I believe it is time the Marines who have been disgraced as a result of the Senator’s reckless accusations take the appropriate action to make things right. The Senator, as well as any other member of Congress and the Media, who has called these men cold-blooded killers in an open and public forum should be asked to respond to these comments in a court of law. Yes, since the Marines have been acquitted in a Court of Law, Congress and the Media should be sued for Slander and Liable. If Congress and the Media continue to make comments like the ones that prompted this, it will set a dangerous precedent if it is let to stand unanswered.
