Matt Sanchez Interviews a Soldier in Iraq About the Beauchamp Chronicles

I haven’t heard from my son again since the initial stories about the accusations made against the Soldiers at FOB Falcon in Iraq, so I was glad to find this tidbit about the story. Matt Sanchez interviews a soldier about driving HUMVEEs and Bradleys into dogs and buildings while driving through Sadr City.

Of course, the reality is as all the Soldiers currently serving in Iraq say it is. Beauchamp’s stories of brutality and cruelty on the part of our Soldiers are implausible at best. If for no other reason than that the Soldiers there take their responsibilities very seriously – they aren’t at a frat party and they know it. Running over curbs and into sides of buildings with their vehicles could get them killed, and they know that too.

This seems like small things that might not warrant this amount of scrutiny. The problem is, as I see it, that each of these bogus stories that the media jumps on and spoon feeds to the public, over and over and over again, wear away at the respect the public has for the military and its mission.

That is why this story is important.
