Was it Paris Hilton that started the trend of the over sized sunglasses for celebrities? Yeah, I think it was her, or maybe Nicole Richie. Either way, they are all wearing them and I see them just about everywhere I go.
They remind me of the sunglasses we wore in the 70s and 80s, over-sized and dominating the face. Like big bug eyes. I’m not sure I’d recognize Nicole Richie without her signature sunglasses on.
It just goes to show that I was WAY ahead of this trend. I was wearing those very same style of sunglasses before Paris and Nicole were even born. My husband wore a pair of prescription sunglasses similar to the ones Brad Pitt wears now.
Both of my kids have several pair designer sunglasses. I don’t. But I did get to wear some of my daughter’s sunglasses while she was home last week. They seemed pretty much like the ones I wear, but she assures me they are better and keep out more of the harmful sun rays giving more protection to her eyes. She’s smarter than I am (at least she thinks so), so I have to take her word for that!
