There are people in the United States moaning and groaning that they are ‘afraid’ of our government because they are speaking out against it. They speak out everywhere as loudly as they can. They put full page ads in our newspapers, they slander our troops and lie because they don’t even have the courage to stand behind their own words. There are people in this country that take every opportunity to disrupt Congressional hearings and get as much air time as they can.

They even disrupt September 11th Memorial services with their insane conspiracy theories and make hate-filled, disrespectful and delusional posts about the worst day in the history of our country. Like get over it already, duh! Like it happened, you know, a long time ago and I have to get my nails done so don’t put a downer on my day. K?

These people pat themselves on their backs and tell themselves that they are very brave and courageous to stand up to the killing machine of the United States government. And yet, under the Constitution of the United States government, they have every right to be just as crazy as they want to be. I have yet to hear of one of them being tried and hung for treason or sedition. I have yet to hear of one of them having their rights suppressed to screech at the tops of their voices about their rights being suppressed. Odd thing, that.

They delude themselves and blame the government for virtually everything because that is so much safer than identifying the real evil in the world. Our enemies really do brutally and viciously kill people after all!

Ehsan JamiWhat’s especially disturbing about their on-going adolescent self-indulgence is that there are people with true courage out there that don’t get heard over the gnashing of teeth of the weak and the cowardly.

Take Ehsan Jami for example. He founded The Committee for Ex-Muslims and is campaigning for freedom of religion. Jami has become one of the most talked-about public figures in the Netherlands after he denounced Islam following the attacks of September 11, 2001. Because of his attempt to leave Islam he has been subjected to death threats and attacks and has had to go into hiding.

This is what happens to people who leave islam, especially people who speak out against it. Just ask Aayan Hirsi Ali. If they hadn’t been murdered by islamists you could ask Pim Fortuyn or Theo Van Gogh.

Today, on the anniversary of 9/11 Ehsan Jami and The Committee for Ex-Muslims launched a campaign to make it easier for muslims to renounce islam.

Speaking to The Times at a secret location before the committee’s launch today, the Labour Party councillor said that the movement would declare war on radical Islam. Similar organisations campaigning for reform of the religion have sprung up across Europe and representatives from Britain and Germany will join the launch in The Hague today.

“Sharia schools say that they will kill the ones who leave Islam. In the West people get threatened, thrown out of their family, beaten up,” Mr Jami said. “In Islam you are born Muslim. You do not even choose to be Muslim. We want that to change, so that people are free to choose who they want to be and what they want to believe in.”

Mr Jami, 22, who has abandoned his studies as his political career has taken off, denied that the choice of September 11 was deliberately provocative towards the Islamic Establishment. “We chose the date because we want to make a clear statement that we no longer tolerate the intolerence of Islam, the terrorist attacks,” he said.

“In 1965 the Church in Holland made a declaration that freedom of conscience is above hanging on to religion, so you can choose whether you are going to be a Christian or not. What we are seeking is the same thing for Islam.”

Mr Jami, who has compared the rise of radical Islam to the threat from Nazism in the 1930s, is receiving only lukewarm support from his party which traditionally relies upon Muslim votes. His outspoken attack on radical Islam has led to a prelaunch walk-out from fellow committee founder Loubna Berrada, who herself rejected Islam.

Even those who agree with him are afraid to be in the same room with him.

Ehsan Jami

From the Koran.

  • 14 passages in the Koran refer to apostasy
  • According to Baidhawi’s commentary, Sura 4: 88-89 reads: “Whosoever turns back from his belief, openly or secretly, take him and kill him wheresoever ye find him, like any other infidel. Separate yourself from him altogether. Do not accept intercession in his regard.”
  • The hadith, tradition and legend about Muhammad and his followers used as a basis of Sharia, tells of some atheists who were brought to “’Ali and he burnt them. The news of this reached Ibn Abbas who said: ‘If I had been in his place, I would not have burnt them, as Allah’s Apostate forbade it . . . I would have killed them according to the statement of Allah’s Apostate, ‘Whoever changed his [Islamic] religion, then kill him’.”
  • According to hadith, a special reward in Paradise is reserved for the killer of apostates

Ehsan Jami is speaking out and is putting his life on the line to do so. This isn’t about attention-getting or making dramatic headline grabbing gestures in pink costumes. This is about courage and conviction. This, my ‘progressive’ friends, is real courage.
