It turns out that Fred Thompson is a shoo-in for the presidency. He has all the qualifications for a successful candidacy and the one qualification required to be president. He has a brother who views Billy Carter as his mentor.
Of course, having an embarassing brother or brother-in-law is an important facet of a presidency.
Fred has Kenny Dale.

Excellent article! Not only do we learn Fred has a brother with a sense of humor but, Ken dispells the ludicrous charge that Fred was ever an “actor”;
“I told Fred, ‘You know, I’m trying to prepare myself to confront the question that faces every first brother,’ ” says Ken Thompson. “And that is: How can I make a buck off of this?’ ”
With that, he laughs. “My mentor is Billy Carter. I’m thinking maybe ‘Kenny Beer.’ ”
Don’t bet on it. The reference to President Carter’s wayward brother and his widely mocked beer business is a joke. Ken Thompson’s relatives and colleagues describe him as a self- effacing professional who inhabits his stage roles and is unlikely to be anything but an asset to his famous sibling.”
“Ken Thompson marvels at how his brother approached films. “He didn’t go through all the machinations of all the different [acting] styles, the theories, the different types of characters,” he says. “He started out being himself, and being really, genuinely himself. And he went far with it.”
I’ve known this only because I wanted to make sure Fred was who he appeared to be and if he had the honesty and loyalty for the most thankless job we have to offer…He is and he definitely does. Thank you for stepping up when we needed you Fred!
I liked the way Fred introduced his wife to the NRA — “now wouldn’t she make a better first lady than Bill Clinton?”
