What makes your little girl beautiful?

My Beloved Curmugeon was watching some country music show on TV last night. It was taped from back when sometime, probably the 1960s. There was someone singing with a back-up band that I had never heard of. The song and her voice were very good - but it wasn’t a ‘performance’ like we have become accustomed to these days. She just stood at the microphone and sang, which is why I knew it was an older show.

The woman was attractive and was wearing a low cut dress, but something didn’t look right to me. I looked at her for a minute trying to figure out what didn’t look right - aside from the hair style which was definitely from a different era. Then it suddenly hit me. Her breasts were nature. Her low cut dress revealed cleavage that was nature. She hadn’t had a boob job.

It was so noticeable to me that I actually commented on it to Beloved Curmudgeon. ‘Her boobs are normal’, I said. He just grunted back at me. He was half dozing in his chair. He didn’t even open his eyes to look.

It struck me as odd that it would look that abnormal to have normal breasts. We’ve just gotten so used to tits on a stick.

I didn’t think of that conversation again until I saw this video at My Vast Right Wing Conspiracy and it seems that Dove and their parent company Unilever have a clue as to what real beauty is.
