It’s also sad that people do not know how to watch movies, or understand stories. For some reason, people often assume that once something is published, it is either true, or is attempting to state a fact. There is such a thing as symbolism, metaphor, archetype, etc that is used to communicate an idea, not state facts.

And although it isn’t every soldier, it IS true that there were some horrible and disgusting violations of human rights done by a *group* of American soldiers, on “the enemy”. So, that movie is certainly based on more than just some anti war dude losing a son in the army.

Maybe if the people who run things started actually listening to the whole populace, not just the richest or the whitest or the most christian, there would be less complaining. This is why the first amendment was written. But honestly, with the attitude that people throw around about how “unpatriotic” it is to dissent, I won’t be surprised if we start finding ourselves arrested for disagreeing.
